Living Big In A Tiny House

Living Big In A Tiny House

With the platforms for both the Lotus Belle tent and the Bathroom Hut built, a rope bridge was the obvious choice for joining the two. Here's how we did it!

Love your project and the video. Would it be possible to show in a little more detail how to plait the ropes around the 2X4s and how to tie off the ends. I want to add this to my Grandson's playhouse!
@jlydon29
@jlydon29 4 ай бұрын
The additional rope is only added for spacing. Simply drill holes through the narrow end of the 2x4, fish it through. You can do the spacing however you want. There are many ways.

That's true!!! It's such an abundant resource in our area so it made a lot of sense to use. Not sure how the bathroom hut will be to use in the winter, but I'm soon going to find out!! At least we will have a nice wood stove in the tent to keep us warm. :)

very awesome and simple design! also i really like structures that incorporate bamboo, so I'm looking forward to the next video very much :D I wish you could post a bit more often but I understand that you take your time to make really high quality video-presentations. have you considered trying to vlog in the future?

***** Hey there! Thanks! We wish that we could make the vids faster too! :) Yup, I have thought about starting to do some vlogs. Especially when we are living in the tiny house (and the tent) because there will be a lot more that I'm able to share then. Thanks for watching!

Great concept, but poor execution of structural stability. I'm sure this has become more evident as this structure has aged.

To be honest, it was for experimental purposes, as he said.

I hate to be critical, but every time you touched the thing it moved. Specifically the cantilevered section: if it moves that much with just your weight on it when it's brand new, what's gonna happen when two people stand on it? And the posts at the end of the bridge wobbled when you touched them. Please add some bracing? When someone slips and needs to grab on to those handrail ropes, those posts act as giant levers. But other than that it looks nice.

Lauren Dodson Hey Lauren! We've got new updates coming up soon! The bathroom hut is almost finished and we've been working hard on the internal kit-out of the tent. All going well, in about three weeks we should be ready to move in! :)

Peter Linch Haha. Nope, we certainly haven't forgot about the Tiny House! Our builder has been swept away for the last while in another project, and I've been working on the internal design and working out the plumbing and electrics in the mean time. We will be kicking off the Tiny House build again really soon, and living in the tent while we finish the house. :)

If you store wood under there and animals like rats to raccons would love to live under there you might just pull out a critter instead of a log. Food for thought,lol. I would suggest - fence that under part off.
