Love this, man. Thanks a lot for putting it up. Also love to see families making memories from simple things.

Thank you! Kind words are always appreciated and help to keep the old man going. My only problem with the door is that the kids love to open it by pushing on the screen, and it shows,

I’ve been watching too many videos on making a screen door and I had the same thoughts on Home Depot wood and pocket screws. I kept thinking, “this is not how they used to be made!” Thanks for calling them out and thanks for posting such a great video! The family moments are great and I wish there were more videos like this and less of all the “KZbinr” spotless workshops that cost $100k.

Thanks Christopher! I agree, lots of spotless videos. Spotless is not an affliction I have ever experienced. Watch a few of my videos and you will see! Barry

Christopher Thank you and I agree on too many spotless workshop videos. Spotless is an affliction I have never had to deal with, ever. Watch a few of my videos and you might agree! Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment. Barry

Wonderful work! How did you join the four 90-degree corner angles? Were there dowels or tenons?

Thanks MGM. The double half lap joints at the corners are glue joints. No mechanical fasteners. Barry

Next time, groove the rails to fit the rabbit on the stiles. It's like a cabinet door.

Wouldn’t that be more like a Home Depot door?

Hi, it's *cherished Art* to see & use collection of various Clamps through years. Your Door kept growing in Beauty during its build, hope it still fits. : } Next life i'd like to Learn [any] skill using wood. what meant when noting, 'wood from foundry'? if Reclaimed from older Homes ... w0w, that's dreamy, I'm Jealous. *Sending Any usable Wood to dump should be outlawed.* Years ago, owner said get what wanted from house next door, [1+ day demolished] but i lacked storage for Huge Floor 'Joists', etc, No One else around here to call. Retrieved some Wall Wood, Doors, most double hung Windows w\ weights & Frames. What placed along fence was Gone, [dump] so was house, when returned from work; One day is Never enough time. {{sigh}} *Cheers!*loor beams

Karen Thank you for the nice comment! And yes the door is fine, 99 years to go to meet my prediction. The foundry is what we call our metal working shop, don’t recall exactly what that comment was referring too. I agree, reclaimed is the best but it is labor intensive and a investment in storage space. Thanks again Barry

Bolt You caught me off guard with this comment. I haven’t seen the video in a while but I am guessing I didn’t have a tripod handy to mount my phone. Sorry you disapproved but I basically make these videos for nothing and sometimes the project takes precedent over the filming.
