Building a Free 8x6 Second Hand Greenhouse, Is It Worth It? | DIY Vlog #43

Building a 8x6 2nd hand greenhouse we picked up free from Facebook Marketplace. This greenhouse was an aluminium frame with a galvanised steel base and glazed with 2x2 glass panels. Taking it down took about an hour but to clean and build the greenhouse back up took a good few days.

Great video. The screws and bolts you link to. Would they work on the top of the door runner? And what head is that for a socket set?

This spring I saw greenhouses like that without the glass being moved on trailers a fair few times. Wider than the car pulling the trailer and all making it some sight to see. We have 2 greenhouses and its good fun but didn't get anything in them this year for some reason, other projects just took all our time and then it was 2 months too late. Actually I tell a lie, we have those small pumpkin for decoration in the one greenhouse and that has turned out very well.

You want to break the glass with some hammer impact motions like you did in your second attempt, rather than slowly bending it.

How long did it take to dismantle the greenhouse?

The person I picked it up from had already taken all the glass out but only took about 30-60 mins to get the frame apart. Took half a day to clean it all and rebuild it.
