Looks great Darren. One question, it looks like the building was not square then the stud walls created a triangular void. Why was this?

Yea there is an extra triangle (pizza slice shape at the back which is a small storage/shed. It was hard to film because of the angle but it’s simply got a steal door and it remained in block without plasterboard or insulation. The stud wall was insulated though.

Excellent - I was thinking of same and wondered to know if you could share an approx cost for this building? Maybe cost per sqm might be easy? Based in London so trying to gauge benefits of brick build vs a timber built shed which I would then look to internally insulate? Thanks

Great build once again but can you you explain the pros and cons of a single brick garden room Vs a double skin brick garden room and what different materials might be used many thanks .

Thanks, the main pro of this was is the price and it also give a little more space internally due to thinner walls. Cavity walls are better of one can go For that instead. Double skin I’m stronger and better insulated. The double skin uses an extra set of blocks internally usually thermal lightweight bricks which the single skin also uses a Vapour barrier (green plastic sheets) and has timber battening to fix the plasterboard to.

Why didn't you use tha space in the back?

It’s 4 x 3 plus it has an extra triangle wedge on the back which is 1 m deep at the wide end

Great build , why do you not put reinforcement for the cement for the floor

Reinforcement is not needed on a low traffic floor, if this was a driveway or a 2nd story floor with high level of traffic then reinforcement would be needed, but in this case it is not required

Hi, just curious all that plastic under the plasterboard, will it sweat and create damp? Uneducated guess 🙄

The vapour barrier is installed to prevent damp (not cause damp). Since the wall is built from a single skin of blocks any moisture that tracks through the blocks will cause damp on the plasterboard. The vapour barrier stops this from happening.
