Absolutely I can't agree with the comments more, this video is so holy and precious, so much experience and just father and son time, it's just, I'm speechless, for those of us that don't have a father and wish we could do things like this, I thank you so much for making this video, and maybe 1 day God will grant me a son so humble and knowledgeable as yourself, so positive, thank you so much!

Looks great. Any chance you have the dimensions/plans for the frame you can share?
@anticsgarage52304 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Our "plan" isn't really accurate anymore because of a few changes we made along the way, but I can give you the basic dimensions: our kart frame is 22" wide at the back, then tapers down to 17" wide at the front to allow room for the front wheels' steering arc. The front axle is 25" long (from kingpin to kingpin). The wheelbase is 51", with an overall length of 72". Ours is pretty long, but I made it that way for an adult to ride comfortably. Overall width (outside edges of tires) is about 38". Hope that helps. I have had several requests for plans, so I might draw up a fresh set to share in the future.

Thank you guys so much for this build!!! I can’t wait to begin! If you guys don’t mind, could you make a list of all of the parts that you used and where I may be able to find these parts? I’d really appreciate it!
@gabrielking84613 жыл бұрын
They probably won’t answer cuz it’s awhile into the future😂 but as far as the parts go most of them I Bellevue are listed I the beginning of each video. And where to find the pets and tools; Home Depot, harbor freight, and/or any metal store for the body parts. And if your looking for a solid metal to build it with. I’m not smart enough to tell you but I bet some quick research will tell ya a light but strong metal to use! ( stainless steel or regular square tubing maybe?)

Hey, don't know if you're still watching this thread, but my 12-year-old son and I came across your videos and have watched them all a few times over! So we're going to pull the trigger and already bought all this steel for the frame. I'm a machinist, so I am able to make several parts on my own. I do have one question. did you buy the 8-in live axle kit, or the 6-inch?
@snoopu26014 жыл бұрын
That's great to always start with a plan so you don't wast any money material's, never built a Go Kart but I built other stuff using cardboard as templets before cutting metal.

Do you guys ever fabricate any brackets? I’m trying to figure out how to make shock brackets and spindles.
@anticsgarage52303 жыл бұрын
We didn't use it on this project, but typically we use a cnc plasma cutter for that. Although if you just need one or two of a simple bracket, it's usually quicker to just make them by hand. Band saw, drill press, etc.
