I can feel the completed gray water project nearly there

thanks for your video! I personally make the outgoing pipe vertically a bit longer. the idea is that when the water sits in the bucket for a longer period , drying out, you loose a bit hight of the water level because of evaporation. in that case some grease can exit the outlet once you refill the bucket. to avoid solids moving out of the outlet you can add a second chamber. in that case you can make the vertical part of the outlet longer, almost to the bottom of the bucket.

I also belive that you should use a layer of activated charcoal, best thing to purify water

"Maze"? I guess that works if you're creating a portmanteau of mesh and gauze.

About the oil and the greese, when possible it should be separated before it gets mixed with water, then put it into a botle and then take it to the “oleão” ;)

A really handy tip for running your holesaw without shattering the plastic: You run the drill backwards! Because the teeth of the holesaw are designed to cut and grab wood, they have a huge effect on plastics. By running the drill backwards you still get enough cutting power to drill trough plastic but not so much that you risk breaking your bucket.

Hi Jasper, could you please give an update on your grease trap? Did it work? Anything you would have done differently in hindsight?
@GhostTownVlogs Жыл бұрын
No actually not.. the grease trap part is working fine :)

Jasper, I think it is a great experiment. It is a good thing that you have easy access to the grease filter. Plus, there is more than enough space if you have to go to a two-container grease trap. I really like the idea of re-working grey water. What will you do with the overflow water?

I don't understand what the piece of the Gazebo was for. What happens to the Gazebo when it rains? Is it not at least a bit waterproof?

Why do you put grease down your drain? I never put things down the drain that create problems and I have never had plumbing problems or septic tank problems. I don’t have a grease trap or a garbage disposal either.

There is always going to be a bit of grease on your plates and pans when cooking with any kind of oil or fat eg meat, frying pancakes with oil, coconut cream etc. That's why we wash up with detergent and hot water! It's a surprising amount when built up over time.
