The bookshelf is my vote!! And pre-drill those holes before you put the screw in! Yes, it's an extra step. However, it drastically decreases the wood splitting.

To keep your 2x4’s from splitting on the ends. Get a drill bit an predrill the holes slightly smaller then the total width of the screw being used. Removing the wood where the solid part of the screw is displacing. Not all, but some will stop the splitting.

Another tool to add to your arsenal.. Wood Screw Counter Sink. Wooden handle with a four or five blade cutter on the other end. It cuts out the wood where the head of the screw goes. Thus relieving the pressure of splitting, and allows for the screw to sit flush with the surface. Keep going! If it’s fun do it!

Perfect, and cheap, way to find studs, get a pack of small magnets and move them around on the wall, soon enough you should be able to find a nail. Measure out 16 inches left or right and you should be able to find another nail. Boom! It's helped me find studs a lot faster without having to buy equipment that is hit or miss.

We love growth! It's ok to accommodate people in certain situations, but it's ok to be selfish sometimes, too. And what you said about being a team against the problem instead of fighting on either side of the problem is definitely the way to go in any relationship. Even if you don't agree on the solution, acknowledge the problem and then work together to solve it in a way that works for both parties. Onto the actual subject of the video: I think you did an amazing job getting the kitchen to the point it is at the end. It's hard to work with wood that isn't perfect, but you made it work! Also, I guess I could go either way on the next video upload question. My heart says locker closet, but what you showed of you doing the bookcase looked so fun! So, idk, girl. I'm sorry. My Aries is showing. 😂😂😂😂

get a good set of drill bits slightly smaller than the screws you plan on using on your projects. Pre drill holes and it will prevent wood splitting and boards cracking and breaking.
