Great job!!!. Just a small suggestion. Show how the Gitlab project is connected to kubernetes/cluster in the Gitlab settings.

This is a great suggestion. Perhaps a new video that goes over this and some benefits that can be used once the integration is made. Any other video content you would like to see?

Can you please show how to build the image using Kaniko in script section.

I could not understand how the Kubernetes Cluster is access the Docker image from the Gitlab repository. For example if I have Minikube or Linode cluster, how I can retrieve the image from my Gitlab Repository ?
@carbootinmyarea75752 жыл бұрын
The container image is pulled from the registry upon creation/update of the cluster. The container image that will be used is specified in the deployment.yml file on line 17 (26:08 in the video) and is fetched during the 'deploy' stage of the pipeline when the helm upgrade command is ran to destroy and recreate the pod(s) in the cluster (see 36:31 , line 29). The manual process would be to: - Build your docker image with a new tag - Upload to your GitLab registry THEN - Perform a rolling update OR - Amend your deployment.yml file with the new tag - run kubectl apply / helm upgrade

And build the Docker Image by using Kaniko.
