6:56 That in the background is an arduino (like a very small computer) that gives power into a photo resistor (The thing in the front). The photoresistor changes resistance depending on the brightness of the light.The arduino detectes that as a change in voltage. If the resistance is high enough (lots of light on the photoresistor) the arduino will activate a relay (a switch that is closed with electricity) and that then switches on something like a light.

The high power target is powered by an arduino. The circuit is built with a bread board. The photo resistor checks change in brightness which makes it high powered. That is helpful since the arduino only has 5V of power. The relay essentially controls the whole circuit

6:55 That white thing is a breadboard. You stick wires in it and it lets you connect the pins of different components without solder. The black thing is a microcontroller (the brain). The blue box is a relay, which is basically just a high power switch that you can turn on or off with lower power. The white disk, I have no clue

Fun fact! You can shine a laser directly into a camera and view it on screen as long you want, it is entirely safe as your monitor can not get bright enough to hurt/harm.

Same reason you can view the sun through a camera(note, camera not viewfinder of a camera). You can have the best video camera out there pointed directly at the sun, but it isn't going to magically make your monitor brighter.

talking on electronics in general, they made to excecute certain applications, some boards more complicated that others from very simple chips to computers, the ones showed on the video are arduinos, little proggramable boards where you can run some code to make different projects work or make it react to physical censors like the one showed on the video, wich react to light, some react to movement, humidity, pressure, etc... Pretty much if you can imagine it, you can make ir work

Basically what Michael did was he took a sensor from one of entry way alarms… (a laser trip wire) it’s basically a laser that is pointed at a sensor and whenever the connection is broken it goes off… he did that but in reverse so that every time the sensor is engaged it triggers a relay to do a predesignated task… like send current to a plasma lighter that then sets stuff on fire…
