Damn I was just at the shop last week from out of state, looks like I missed the completed kit. Well I’ll be back in 6 months so I’ll see it then. Thanks for another great build video. 👍

Neat kit and impressed. You kept calling the pistons “cylinders” which made me chuckle. Also the tappets/lifters not “injectors” haha. I also noticed the valve timing was off an if there is a correction for it to set timing in the instruction manual? Very nice piece an always enjoy your videos.

Years ago I used to get paid to work on the R/C version for the OS Engines brand. Their Sirius 5-cylinder was much like this. The cam reduction gear was different. Loved to test run the multiple cylinder engines including the flat-four Pegasus.

Now imagine working on a Pratt n Whitney R4360 with 4 rows and 28 cylinders with two spark plugs each and having to check spark gap. A B-36 had six of them. Uffda!

Pistons and connecting rods - these go inside the cylinders. “Main hub” is the crankcase. The crankshaft runs in this. The notched rod is the master rod. Pushrods operate the valves via the rocker arms. Quick tip - vacuum the floor and work surfaces before work. Makes runaway parts easier to recover. Nice model! 👍🏻

I'm trying to understand why radial engines need an odd number of cylinders per bank. I know it's the 1-3-5-2-4 thing, but when the number one engine (on top) is in power stroke what is number two doing?? It's got me ALL confused!

This is a really neat kit that is made with a great amount of precision and looks amazing. There is another build video on this on another KZbin (no audio) channel called Restoration Kamasutra. Just as good with perhaps a different perspective and tips. He does other Teching kits including a V-8 motor. A word of warning is that level of detail and precision does NOT come cheap! Great job Andy.

Its a nice kit and I checked it out online. It is quite expensive here in the UK. It seems to run very well but I was just wondering with the cam gears, you mentioned nothing about timing the cam to the crank otherwise the vales wont be opening in the correct sequence to the piston.

I watched Adam build the engine kit and loved it. Soon after, I started getting ads during the games on my cell for the same kit for $15! I decided to order one, knowing what was gonna happen. I got a small, cast resin engine, painted like the one Adam had built. Good thing I have a sense of humor!

Probably the best scale model ever made. Parts are all cast in metal and come separate in their foam holders. Parts are “assembled” not glued together. Reminds me of Pocher kits.

I was wondering tht you didn't have to set valve timing. Now I see. Engine doesn't work like a real one. There is no compression- or working stroke!! Valves open at each stroke. That's very bad! All timing gear is fake and so to much money for that kit!!
