You've really done amazing progress, especially considering all the other issues when moving houses. Brilliant work, Mark, and it was great to see the trains running. Nice scenery already and excellent courses for the trains to run.

Great progress and yes, go ahead and run trains. There are those who wouldn’t run anything until they are finished but I couldn’t do that 👍

No I couldn’t either really need to have at least 1 loco run soothing to the mind

Hi Mark Really great progress there, they say getting something running is the best way to keep the enthusiasm going. I like the look of this layout too, the 'space' between the curved line and the viaduct seems to let the layout 'breathe' as it were and it should make for some fantastic photo shots when complete, I also like the low angles which you can get your camera it gives a really good scene for the railway. Sometimes "less is more", if you see what I mean. Great work Mark, do carry on! lol.

Thank you Peter, yeah I’m trying to make that scene of depth and open ness and not over kill hopefully it works and you see the progress thanks for your kind comment, hope your well 🙂

Yor making some good progress, track down and on scenic scape, good to see you smoothing plaster bandage, it does make a difference. if you get a bag of plaster of paris add a tea spoon of white vinegar this will slow down the setting time and cheaper than the moulding type plasters.

Thank you and thanks for the tip I’ll be trying that on some of my other sections 🙂👍🏻

Hi Mark. They say black to the back for wiring in a model railway. I did the same as you and did it alphabetically black followed by red. Of course it makes no difference when your working on your own layout. You have made some excellent progress and it's always great to get some locomotives running round to. Naturally I will follow with interest. 👍
@HemelDownModelRailway2 жыл бұрын
Oh never new that about the wire positions, oh well I’m glad that I’m not the only one that did it that way, thanks for your support 🙂
@dinmorejunctionmodelrailway2 жыл бұрын
@@HemelDownModelRailway Well there's at least two of who have wired differently. We could start a new movement 👍🚂🚃🚃🚃

Looked up those curves bit to mathematical for my liking 😉, just have to go with what the eye can see, think it worked out ok in the end 🙂

@@HemelDownModelRailway Yes no worries Mark, if you are using flexitrack it's nice to feed into the cure gently, but all this does take up space, something all modeller have an issue with, I wish I'd had another few metres in space :o) regards Alan...
@HemelDownModelRailway2 жыл бұрын
Yeah know that feeling , I’m sure once I’ll get this bit done hopefully in the winter I’ll be extending to the other side of the chimney, for now though I need to save the cash for the track hope you managed to get out to the park with your grandson 🙂
@AlanReynoldsBucklandJunction2 жыл бұрын
@@HemelDownModelRailway Yes lucky you having the space behind the chimney. will it be a storage / fiddle yard. I collect my Grandson from school today. I'm taking on the train to the next town (Deal) as there is a large park for him to run off some steam. Regards Alan :o)

Great work Mark. Setting up my own loft layout shortly so your inspiring me to crack on and finish the plaster boarding. Out of interest, how tall are your baseboards from the floor? Thanks Richard
@HemelDownModelRailway2 жыл бұрын
That sounds good, all the prep work is hard, my boards are just over 3ft high 🙂
