I stumbled on your video at the right time. I had two CD shelves custom built for me. On your video, I didn't hear If you laid down two coats of primer? Before the two coats of black paint. I'm getting ready to prime my shelves.... Your design was simple and slick!

or you could also scorch it with a gas blowtorch,then apply a layer of oil,let dry and wipe the excess with a cloth,then apply a layer of furniture wax and finally polish it with a medium-hard brush. this will give it a nice matt sheen.

🤔 why not? dvd's are a bit higher than cd's,but you could adjust the height of the rear board a bit - but it's not a must.
