Amazon is one of the main evil corps around. They have ruined many a small to medium business, bezos is an evil collective, AND I just realized the other day that every TV show they produce (at least the ones I've watched) are very dark. Even the video overlays they use are dark, which brings down our energy and brainwashes us that all of society is dark. It's not a coincidence even though their shows are full of predictive programming. I wouldn't trust AWS if you paid me a million dollars. Just like with goolag, they can shut your site down whenever they want saying you went against their TOCs.

While this is a great solution, there is the problem with the sheer amount of data that exists, and the room to store it. _Somebody_ has to have a large server bank, therefore giving them control over a large amount of data going up and down, but I assume he has already thought of this. It would have been nice to have a longer clip.
@prometheus9096
@prometheus9096 4 жыл бұрын
This is why a decentralized internet has to split up data(and copys of it, maybe based on frequency of use / "popularity") between nodes. So even if you have a big data center you only host parts of parts and their are more copys of that data out there. There is also more than enough free disc space on the internet ;) (I dont use 100% of my disc space, i don't think neither do you). Decentralized web hosting is the key. So you could build your serverbank as big as you want, you still be one of many, holding only copys/parts.

Just a few months ago in early 2019, I was talking to my mom while we were driving in the car and I said something about a certain subject with my phone shut off, and once I turned my phone on I went to either Google or Facebook and started to see ads for that thing we were talking about. It freaked me out! 😳😳😳 I never typed anything in my phone. It was in sleep mode and I was verbally talking out loud.

So instead of storing my web app’s data on AWS, I would store it with his service across many consumer devices? Wouldn’t that compromise security (physical access) and wouldn’t that still be centralized through his system? It’ll be on different machines but same service, just like existing servers today (e.g Google Cloud can store ur web app data on various machines at various data centers around the world)

No one here is talking about security. The problem that will have to be faced is still the same on the internet -- there's inherent trust that whatever device you are connecting to (router, server, friend's laptop, etc) is safe, and virus free, and won't steal your bank credentials, and doesn't contain very illegal things like CP. How is the "Everyman" going to invest in security in a decentralized model?

I don't know what their idea really is, however I must say that when you don't go through the big names or brands, chances are you don't get the real thing. they talk about doing something like napster…: first of all napster was giving for free things that were meant to be paid, moreover, in many case it took days to download. I think this sounds more like going one step back than one step forward. they blame on internet monopolies as if when you go on google your research is slow and doesn't give the result you expect: it's actually the opposite. 20 years ago there were so many browsers, but most of them were good only for certain things.
@fgrion
@fgrion 4 жыл бұрын
@Douglas Roper hm I think you don't get the point. centralisation and standardisation are what people want. Why when you look for a hotel you check your reviews on a few specialized websites like trip advisor? because you know the name and you know it has a great reputation. now, seriously would you prefer leaving your pictures on a PC of someone you don't know and I guess as soon as they will create this peer to peer network there will be some hacking software so all your data can be taken?

Are you like, too young for having experienced what the world wide web was ? I mean early google was so much better at finding real information. Facebook was so much better at connecting people. Obviously you never heard of for example "The Shed" which was rated the no.1 restaurant in London due to Tripadvisor ranking "The Shed" at the top spot on their site. LMAO Plus, what do you mean "as soon as" a P2P network is created will all be hacked taking all of our data? You honestly don't believe all of your data (liberty & security) isn't already being stolen by (MAGA FT) the big 6 tech companies as well as others? GTFOH !!!

No you can't, if you are behind NAT and a gray IP, it is not possible, for example if you live in a rural area and the only way to access the internet is via satellite or mobile internet.
@emlo40
@emlo40 Ай бұрын
@@SL4RK if you have ipv4 you will always be behind a NAT that’s why we have port forwarding. Both satellites and cellular towers only give you private IPs, you can in fact still host on them but you need to use IPv6 instead as all IPv6 addresses are public ip addresses, but IPv6 isn’t compatible with ipv4 so anyone who doesn’t have IPv6 won’t be able to connect and you would have to hope that your isp doesn’t have firewall rules against the ports you want to use

Mark Nadal has some interesting philosophical ideas of how the internet should be, but does not live in the real world. There is many reasons why these ideas are unsafe, unsecure, unsane. These tech companies do not own the internet, they are the best product of it. In a liberal/socialistic episode he would have ruined it. I would prognosticate that there is other motivations for his incursions against these tech companies.
