Sandi, you could probably sell lots of your “waste” wool to crafters to make their own drier balls or use it for other felting and dyeing projects. Just a thought.

I forgot to add in my earlier comment. I was watching on my iPad and stepped across the room to get something away from my dog - Golden Retrievers CANNOT abide not having something in their mouth and she’d found a pen I was afraid I’d have n my carpet. I looked up and couldn’t really see detail on the screen, but it was when you were loading the lambs into the trailer and Carissa was waving her arms to “encourage” them 😉. And even tho I wasn’t sure for the first half second if it was Carissa or whether it was Mark helping you… picture the figure less than a quarter inch tall… but immediately I could tell it was her from her movements. She is so darn good at knowing when to be quiet in her movements and when to be loud in her movements. Such a good help to you, Sandi!

I love what you have done for Jess. By giving her a home is not just amazing for her but also for you and Mark. My parents have a farm. I renovated the old barn into a little cottage for myself. It’s amazing. I don’t have to worry about rent or a mortgage. I suffer from a few chronic illnesses so it’s been really hard to work and be in and out of hospital. Also if we need each other’s help with farm work, I don’t have to drive to the farm. I have been looking after the farm a lot lately alone, because my sister just had identical twins. So my parents never have to worry about someone not being on the farm. I am about to cull my sheep, they were born in July/August and they look incredible too.

I buy dirty belly wool from one of Sandi's friends and use it as mulch in my allotment garden. It's fabulous stuff full of pee and poo that everytime it rains or I water, the 'fertilizer' goes into the soil and I have monster plants. The wool breaks down in 2 years and becomes part of the soil. Great stuff. I fill up the car with huge burlap sacks of the stuff. Highly recommend as a way to not only mulch so the soil moisture stays even, but it keeps the weeds down.

You can offer your mill ends up to spinners and felters. Package and sell it by the pound (apx 450ish grams). Call them mill ends then there is no waste and no adding to your full plate with dryer balls. It should be fine to ship over borders because it is already processed. Double check of course.

I LOVE my Sheepishly Me hoodie (it's the eggplant colored one, and it's way too big because it was the size I could get last year) and my HUGE coffee mugs. Hi Sandi, another interesting video of the barn construction and why. I wonder if a drain that ran the length of the barn on top of the concrete outside wall could help collect the melted water could before it runs on the floor. Just a thought. You don't have to worry about Mark getting bored, just give him something to build and he is in his element. His craftsmanship and patience is incredible. I hope you are scheduling more breaks and chiro appointments to keep your body functioning at its best. Chris from Victoria Australia 🇦🇺.

You answered so many questions I did not even think to ask. AWESOME! I have a thought for you..... You mentioned you want to try to dye your wool and learn the process. Why not use that leftover wool for that purpose? You will learn how the wool takes the dye, how to put it where you want it to create a design. If you so desire, after you dye the wool, make dryer balls and sell them. That way you get to experiment, have ZERO waste and still have a product to sell. Thank you for another wonderful video. See you in the next one.

Your life centered around your sheep business reminds me of what we did for 12 years. I worked full time in the oilfields. Had 130 hives of bees. Processed all the honey, made candles from the wax, did the farmers markets and my wife made soap. We spent countless hours doing this and loved every minute. We also delivered our 'goods' to all the health food stores in the Denver market as well as mail orders. This was everyday except Sunday. Keep up the positive attitude.

Many people use wool in gardening. Not washed. They just use thick layers as cover the soil between plants to have less weeds and moister stay in ground.

Thank you for the barn information; I find it very interesting. Thank you for doing videos, I'm so totally hooked and must have my weekly Sandi fixes. Comparing the big barn and the grow out barn, although different in size, the lightness/brightness in the big barn is amazing, so spirit lifting. No wonder your sheep do so well.

I remember you giving the old house tour. I always thought it would be a lovely reno project. It may not be feasible, but i would enjoy watching that. Maybe a joint project with your kids?

During that video I was thinking how much fun it would be to rehab it and live in it. It's a beautiful building

Agreed. I guess it depends on the "foundation" and how well all of the necessary utilities have held up over the years.

Do you remember how much water damage, mould & animal feces were visible? I too would love to see that old brick farmhouse rehabilitated. But I think it would have to be someone like Mike Holmes who has the experience, the crew & the equipment. You'd have to go in wearing hazmat suits. Realistically Sandi & Mark have too much going on to take on a project like that. Yoo-hoo, Mike Holmes?? 💕💕

Yes. So want a mug. Maybe one of each. One for coffee, one for tea. I also keep just missing the drops. 😢

Hi Sandi, just a idea but if you had a different coloured ink block you could stamp up your candle boxes so they looked different to your mugs on the shelf, just so there's no confusion at order picking time. ❤

I spent many summers working in a greenhouse for the joy of it & I'm very familiar with the brightness & the awful banging when it's windy. Work that fed my soul & willy-nilly involved a lot of muscle power, dragging long hoses & hoisting flats of plants 💕💕

With that extra wool peices you dont know what to do with.....id get some large sturdy sheets of cloth. And fill that with that wool. And simple stitch around to make doggie beds or like rustic sleeping blanket type things. What they did way back in the day for bedding:)
