Good progress. Don't forget to run cat6 cable to each room - two points in each back to a network switch somewhere. The electrician can do this while chasing the electrics. You can also run speaker cable to each room if you like. Also, since you have a void under the floor will you install underfloor insulation while you have access? Easy to do now and will make the house comfortable underfoot.

@@sidremey Thanks for the comment! Yes we are running cat6 from the router to my office not too bothered about the other rooms. Good point about the speaker we will consider that. Yes that’s my next indoor job to get the floorboards up and install insulation in the void and possibly install chipboard flooring instead. What do you think, chipboard or keep floorboards? Thanks!

@@nickrachreno Keep the floor boards if you can. I have used Gapo Tape to get a nice friction fit for rigid PIR board between joists. Also used battens to stop them dropping and then foil-taped across the joists at the top. Concentrate on sealing the gap between the floor and the walls as well - it will pay back over time. Maybe electric underfloor heating above the PIR boards and below the floor boards ?

Thanks for the insight. Would you recommend PIR boards over loft insulation rolls for example. I was planning on stapling a breathable membrane between the joists to act as almost a hammock for the insulation, I've seen videos on doing it the PIR route too. Haven't weighed up the cost difference yet.

@@nickrachreno PIR board is better but more expensive - that's the trade off that needs to be considered. If budget is tight maybe save the PIR for the ceiling eves (where is slopes downwards) and cover with jackoboard instead of regular plasterboard to stop cold bridging and thus damp on the ceilings

@@sidremey Brilliant thanks. Assume where you mention the ceiling eves you mean between the roof trusses in the sloped section? I've got jackboard for the inside of the stud wall for the bath side, didnt consider it for the ceiling, we have the moisture board for the ceiling currently. Thanks for your help by the way!

Thanks! I've paid a designer to make the ones to date. I haven't got the patience or time to make them look on par with how they make them!
