I feel like the tip to diversify what you play applies way more to people who have a good 100+ hours in the game, as generally you will have an easier time as a new player if you otp one survivor until you learn the game, then after you are familiar with most survivors, then you can start training with other ones as well. Naturally if you want to play a lot of different survivors then all the power to you! But if you are new, focus on one you like playing for a while, be a one trick and learn the game, then swap it up later.

good point! i wanted to mention it early so that people would be aware of how important it is to have a wider character pool for squads. in solos, it was possible to play just one character for years on end. unfortunately in squads, that could lead to some really bad team comps the otp idea is definitely a strong idea, but its easy to learn bad habits very quickly in this game - whether that’s because you learn to play passive because your character is undertuned, or you learn to play too aggressive because your character is overtuned. imo, there are so many levers in eternal return that make OTPing very dangerous for new players, specifically in this new squads focused environment

Great video, think that comps in ER really arent to difficult when compared to more tradition MOBAs like league, feels like for the most part especially in lower elos as long as you have a front line and someone who can do damage your chilling

thankfully, the fact that the comps in ER are limited to 3 people makes it a lot easier to manage. i feel like if we were a traditional MOBA, it could get pretty silly very quickly

For the double range comp, is there a backrow character with decent peel that pairs well with AR Aya?

i think my initial suggestion would be celine, since she’s an incredible zoning mage who has a strong slow and strong knockback to peel herself and the AR aya. unfortunately, shes kind of hard to play… emma might be a good option, since her polymorph is an excellent anti-dive spell. the only issue is that your engage and fight forcing will be rather poor since she doesnt have particularly strong chase. in general, most of the longer ranged mages with good peel, wont have the best initiation tools

What comps do you think Celine would fit well in?

i would say a melee with solid cc (ex lenox, leon, estelle) will help celine land her bombs more efficiently, and then a ranged character with strong consistent dps (hart, eva, rio) can finish off the people that she bursts down

@@LightningStrikesTwice i would say if you're playing a very strong core, then it technically works out, but they do have some distinct differences! celine is very damage focused, with very little chase potential and overall utility. if you play her very well, her damage output is really high adri does have very good damage, but a lot of her skills provide utility through slows and defense shreds. her only real strong damage comes from her Q, while her passive fire is generally random scratch damage

@@myaaniflakes Oh alright, so like Tia in your video, Adriana would be around to provide utility and support the carry? So for example a comp like Lenox, Adriana, Rio could work?

@@LightningStrikesTwice yeah, that sounds like it could work! adriana would work with the rio to kill anyone who dives them, which works especially well since adriana has strong armor shred. if the enemy team has poke mages, adriana can slow them down for lenox to catch up and hook them backwards, ideally letting you and rio burst them down in that time
