This is a Firebrand TF Mk.V more than a Sea Fang or Wyvern minus the turboprop engine. The fuselage, armament, and wing shape almost match perfectly.

Seems also related to a Seafire mk.47

All of the above, also the Ryan F2R prototype and a bit like the Boeing F8B (in shape, not a turboprop).

Turboprops are very common in civil aviation especially on routes involving smaller airports
@Eman-720

Generally what Turboprops have as an advantage is raw power. Mike Patey actually put a turboprop in his Draco as it was actually more efficient and powerful, as he could get to higher altitudes to take advantage of the thinner air.

Because airplanes run at higher speeds and turbines are more efficient at higher speeds.

Maybe slap on an airbrake, cause at those speeds IRL at that age, you could have some pretty bad flutter, just like the P-38 in a dive. And also makes sense, could be used as a ground attacker (as lots of late war props ended up being in the cold war), and airbrakes help there.

I really enjoy your building process, I'd prefer more live-commentary as one can usually get more of the pure thought process behind the desing. Although the history lesson was very enjoyable.

Yes, the Hercules can take off on short runways and carriers using its rocket assisted short takeoff system. Im not sure what its called exactly. And I'm pretty sure the carrier takeoff option requires a landing on land.

The name of the program that made the rocket-assisted Hercules was ‘Operation/Project Credible Sport’, and was made to allow a C-130 to land and takeoff inside a stadium.

Painful to hear the ignorant, speculative nonsense what you rambled about the turboprops. Those are practically exclusive engine type in helicopters, and larger propeller aircraft, like cargo planes and passenger planes. Also pretty common in smaller size aircraft, like private planes, because the simple construction, small size, high power and less altitude dependence compared to piston engines. Just check the Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6 wiki page to see the endless list of use cases, and that is just one of the more popular engine types. Great building skills, BTW.
