We do like camping in areas that are remote, sometimes high elevations (4-12k feet) and many times in snow. Hence the reason I'm building a camp trailor as well . P.S. Have gotten a few good tips from your videos. Thanks.

I had mine out when it was 14 deg F at best and didn't need a heater. The foam is pretty great in cold weather. I live in Canada so I am going to try it out in much colder weather soon.

Wow no heater!! how long did it take to warm up?
@Rick964 жыл бұрын
@@WhatTheHellAmIThinking I didn't warm it up, it just holds heat. Thursday I climbed in and it was 41 deg F. It was a little cool but just a light sleeping bag was all I needed. I woke up to 35 deg weather and just put a sweater on. I had my roof vent cracked slightly for fresh air. I plan on getting a 12v 150watt heater. I think that will be all it will need to make it warm..

Excellent project. I'm planning on building one of my own after I get a couple of other higher priority (according to my wife) projects completed. This is extremely informative. I hope to learn from your mistakes, but I don't see where you've made any at this point. Thanks for the effort you put into filming this an posting it.

If you have kids make a miniature version they can pull on a bike. Great way to prototype and have something the wife and kids will like😂

I've been thinking of doing the same thing: polygonal foam core sandwich. Similar idea to the polydrops but I'll CAD the design myself.

A trick : you can watch series at Flixzone. Been using them for watching a lot of movies during the lockdown.

Really informative and nice! What type glue did you use inside with the paper?

What a great series you've created here! Thanks for sharing your process all the way through. You've made a great resource for people who are exploring this idea. The brown paper/glue decoupage idea is very clever-- easy fix for inevitable dings in the foamboard. Also I like that it seals away the foamboard with benign Elmers glue. I've been wondering about what the foamboard might be outgassing into that really small space, where air turnover will be intentionally limited... Any thoughts about that?

First Thank you for watching!!! and I love the inside BROWN Bag / well I used packing rolls for the Dollar tree,, so inside was very cheap to do,,, lol I always have windows cracked and It had a paint smell for a few months, cuz it was oil base. I was more worried about that smell. Never notice a smell from the foam. but again windows are always cracked open.

I guess thank you,,, I am happy with it. It is only setting me back about $1000.00 and I could not justify 5000 to 10000 for one. would love to see what you end up with!
