That’s persevered moss they use lots of chemicals to keep it like that using that dry alone is a bad idea but in humid hide with water that basically draws those chemicals out is a recipe for something really bad

The soil from outside can carry bacteria that can harm the reptile and if it got a disease you would need to pay alot to fix and treat the reptile
