My brothers and I dug out a "fort" under an old tree like this when we were kids…. This brought back some old wonderful memories from my childhood…. Your build is definitely much more sophisticated than ours was… but what do you expect from a couple of 11, 10 and 7 year old kids? Our dad was pretty impressed with it! lol

From Delaware. New to your channel but love your videos. Why put black dirt in the container to drink it? Did the dirty water somehow get clean? Amazing how you're able to make candles for additional light and build a shelter in a fallen tree trunk.😊

He used charcoal created from his fire, not black "dirt" to create a filter for the water to remove excess sediments and other impurities and then boiled it to kill any bacteria and parasites to make the water safe before drinking,,,

It’s a great way to have a flat cooking surface if you don’t have any large flat rocks laying around…. Of course being able to cut out a huge piece of a log like that require you to have a fairly large saw….

USA. I enjoy your videos but sometimes you scare us when you're splitting wood. At 20:00-20:07 you barely moved your hand in time or you would have hit your fingers. Please hold the piece to split with another piece of wood. It will teach other to be safe and might save a hand or life. God bless 🙏🏼

From Taiwan. It is a cozy and ingenious little shelter. I like it. But be careful. The tree might fall or the whole thing might collapse. It might need a strong support under the tree. Maybe a big log.

We built "forts' wherever we could in the late 50's suburbia of Mpls..with scrap lumber from all the new houses being built, sometimes contractor would come and destroy them with back hoe caterpillar tractors. Few trees in former potato fields. and our parents didn't want them on new sod.
