To answer your question, yes... They also have regular crashed ships on corrupted planets. While I was experimenting with finding crashed sentinel ships the hard way... I came across one of the buildings that give you distress beacons. Ended up finding a b-class explorer

LOL, it wasn't so cool for me at the time. I thought I found a slick way of locating sentinel ships. But, that being said, in hindsight I'm glad that it wasn't like a bubble planet and just had an empty space where a ship should be. My guess is, any planet that has regular buildings will also have crashed ships.

Before you repair the sentinel ship look in the top right corner and it shows you the class You might already know this but there you go! Great vids!

Now that all my exosuit spots cost 125-200K, I have decided to start using my nav data to get the maps and just collect suit upgrades that way. Nav data is easy to get and most of the items you need to repair drop pods are pretty basic. It is a bit grindy, but I like it since you can stumble on other structures and get other buried stuff as well!

Did you know if you get in the roamer and you have two scanner upgrades in it, you can scan for suit upgrades for free? So just land, summon the roamer, get in, scan for one, get back in the ship and fly to it. Then rinse and repeat. The roamer also scans for the CLOSEST one. 👍🏻

For squadron pilots as far as I can tell each race has one seeded to each ship model so you can't have 4 identical ships on your squadron. You can do 3 of the same model with the pilots being a gek, a vy'keen, and a korvax but then for the fourth slot you will have to choose a different ship model.

Yeah, the computer carefully gets your ship to the point where it won't be damaged by the drop, then just lets gravity take over.

Does the squadron really do any damage? I have 3 s and 1 a and it seems like I'm the only one destroying enemies. It's like their guns aren't doing anything.

I’ve spent hours on this now. It’s not every time though. Sometimes you get a differ t pilot and it still won’t let you trade. I thought it was dependent on who you traded with but I can’t find the rhyme or reason.

One very odd thing about this is that the pilots stats change. I chose a pilot last night and first asked to recruit him. He was an S class and I was all like yes! So i do the ship trade, and then go talk to him about recruiting again and he had dropped to a class B pilot? But I've had the opposite happen also. So I don't know if the class and values of the pilot skills are randomly chosen at the time you ask them or what? I also noticed the pilots themselves change physically when you trade the ship vs what they look like when you go back to recruit them. So my guess is that the pilot itself is NOT the same pilot you actually traded the ship with and the game just randomizes that?

I think you don't need to upgrade pilots with nanites. As you can see as soon as you upgrade him the pilots kills go up. Therefore I assume if you just use the pilot a lot they will eventually get there on their own

@SurvivalBobGaming thank you I've been twisted about ships for awhile switch version is 4.2.0 so it constantly crashes around the interceptor ship so I use solar as my main ship that I travel with an explorer when I have to go long distances do you have any recommendations?

An exotic is the best all around ship. Others are better in specific areas. But if you fully upgrade w S Class mods they can all be decent.

You were trying to recruit the wrong guy. You gave your ship to "Interface Entity Lambsky", Then you tried to recruit "Physicist Entity Zapatigo" to your squadron. I think the first one you recruited was Zapatigo, you can't re-hire someone. Don't know why they swapped places though.

There is only one guy at the ship. The game changes it sometimes from the one you trade with. I watch him spawn in and he’s different. 🤷🏻‍♂️

There are already freighters in the shape of the sentinel freighter that shows at a level 5 alert level it just won’t have the same sheen as the sentinel freighter

Yes it is, for sure, a thing with the systems (the same happened to me, when I put together my own sqad). You can have all from one race and ship, but they have to come from different systems, you figured it out. 😅

Just a heads-up reminder: Swapping freighters _won't_ transfer your base. Apparently, HG still haven't fixed that despite implementing base transfer a while ago. Learned that the hard way two weeks ago. So, don't forget to deconstruct your own before buying a new one.

The "fix" for this is to leave any stack of items in your old freighter. Example, leave 3 ferrite dust in your current freighter, then offer to buy the new freighter. This forces the popup notification to transfer the old cargo into the new freighter, which then triggers the popup to transfer the base layout. I lost my first S class freighter to this "bug" a long time ago. Since then I always leave something in my old freighter before purchasing a new one. I hope this helps.

Following the freighter quest line is much less important than it previously was ...as freighter fuel is so often looted from freighters ...almost trivial to get freighter fuel now.

Yeah, I was gonna say picking a new system would work. Ive had that happen when I tried to make a squadron of exotic ships, it wouldn't let me get 2 from the same system even though they were different ships.

Bob, you can call a different ship in after scraping. Same menu as if on a planet and want to call a diff. ship.

Thank you for the video. I do not know if you know, but you used to be able to have 1 ship less than max, so 11, then exchange the pillar for a ship then buy it back. That should move the pillar into slot 12 and it would no longer be the default ship after scrapping another ship. At least it worked like that before the interceptor update.

FYI, when you are on the screen removing the brain from the downed ship, it tells you what the ship class is. At least every ship you have claimed has ended up matching the class that had been listed on that screen.

Yes on other crashed ships being on the planet. This specific ship takes up the same ship spot that the planets living ship would have taken previously, I believe. Xaine could probably confirm but it makes sense.

Y'know... I'm fairly certain that it helps talking to the same person you traded ships with when recruiting... If you look at their names you'll notice that they're 2 *completely different entities.* In fact, as someone pointed out in another comment, I am pretty sure you kept trying to recruit the pilot you already had recruited both times after you had traded.

Yeah, when you trade ships the same pilot doesn’t always appear at your ships. He kept turning into the other guy. Give it a shot and let me know what you find.

I've been recently having this issue with the harmonic resonance locks where it never lets me put in the glyphs to unlock at all. it just says REJECTED. Did you come across any of this while you were playing outside of the edits?

I hadn't even considered swapping ships to fill a squadron like that. Do we know if modding the ship matters or not for that? Having all 4 of them riding S class fighters that are all teched out with infra-knives sounds like it would be insanely strong.

I don’t think it would work. When you swap ships, it randomizes the ship.

Recentl ypicked up the game and have been watching this series as a bit of a tutorial and whatnot. Anyway, wondering why you don't use the target lockon when fighting in space? Is it just a preference thing, or is it a bad idea to be using it like I have been?

you doing good.. but you can get the same sentinel ship back after you recruit the squadron... the ship comes back to the space station if you just stay there like 10 to 15sec

Just as an added.. I tried for a while on my main save to have a full Exotic squad but had too many issues with the recruitment. Seemed like the same "issue" where pilots just didn't have the option. I may grab a couple of my Exotics and try the trade/recruit method shown here.

I've been playing No Man's Sky since it was released, and even I just learned something. If you hold down the left trigger while in combat (obviously on a controller), you can lock onto a target while firing, and it'll automatically switch targets when one is destroyed. I don't know what that particular control is on a keyboard, but it's really handy.

Pc defaults use , and . Keys to cycle target. Hold S to match speed to lock-on.

Everytime you are trying to get the pilot to join your squadron, it is changing the color and name of your pilot to the first one you recruited. Might be a glitch but thats what it looked like it was doing.

Also, you could only have one of each race to pilot the same ship model. You could only have 3 in a squad considering there's no 4th race to add. Yet?
