And even if the final result is a wonder of technical Gods, but because of lack of time, those are never used....this guy will use his belt sander, even if he is not the best in design and manufacturing. Sorry to steal time of yours but one example: I wanted to polish my alloy rims when I was 18 years old.I welded a shaft and joined a used wheel bearing to my workbench. Rotated with a 300 watts ac motor and that’s all. Takes an hour to polish the rims one by one. after my graduation: built a lathe machine chuck system to clamp a wheel into the lathe I bought for 20 K... takes 30 minutes one wheel, but because of we do not have time now: I buy the polishing at a mechanic now.... this is what it is....

3:40 rubber from tube, NICE TOUCH. i used skate board wheels, (from Amazon, 4 for about 32 canadian) on my DIY 2 x 42 grinder, with 1 hp motor, and 5 inch drive roller from wood.....good for you....r you gonna use gas cylinder for tension, ? or spring, i'm not sure which is best...yet...may modify it....

Nico, la idea está excelente y sencilla, Como comenta Pablo Cantú le falta tensión a la banda y un alineador para que la banda no se salga. En lugar de la solera sustituir por ángulo y se le da más rigidez a la columna y el tambor en lugar de un tornillo ponerle dos para poder alinear y tensar. Por lo demás, un poco de limpieza antes de la soldadura quedaría mucho mejor. Saludos.

идея с верхней гайкой мне понравилась . только нужно добавить пружину под гайку . ленту короче .и с лева (от работающего) болт регулировки перекоса верхней рамы - станок не доработан но имеет право на жизнь, за идею лайк

you should have a c-shaped frame so you can have clearance on the left hand side of the platen, it is particularly useful when you grind a knife.

Да блин на таком гриндере только ржавчину с труб снимать, как автор и показал. :) По уму 2-й вал должен быть бочкообразным и, как я понимаю, регулируемый наклон, чтобы лента не убегала. Ну и подпорная планка тоже регулироваться должна. Да короче, все криво, коряво, на хрена это делалось, чтобы видео снять для лохов?

Weld joints doesn't have proper penetration, joints will just snap off at one point. Platform is not supported at the bottom, it will bend overtime, it is same with the backplate. The concept is good but the execution is poor.

@P4OUR The OP is literally being supportive via criticism. He identified the good concept, laid out the weakness of the project, and left some veiled indicator of risk. Personally I would have more clearly stated the potential for serious injury hazard because I care about the dude not losing an eye because of his DIY. I mean if you want to talk about never pursuing another project and all - losing an important bodily function rates higher than snowflake feelings. I also value the criticism because I like the concept too and I want to attempt this with more features (increased adjustments including alignment). I want to know areas where I could improve upon. Ever think of that?
