A rounded tip trowel is much easier For stone work you don’t snag 👍🏻 squirrel 🤣

You need to wear a "boonie hat", or a straw hat with a wide brim to help keep the sun off your face, and a thin white long sleeve button down cotton shirt does wonders. There is a reason the old timers dressed the way they did. Gotta watch out for that sun, I've known a lot of old masons who wound up with skin cancer. Decent sunglasses or safety glasses will help keep your eyes in good shape too. Getting a scratched cornea is rough...
