I absolutely LOVE this truck you built. I work in the trucking industry, so I was surprised to see that u actually built a big truck instead of a regular truck like others do. I drive the yard truck at the local terminal and move then trailers around the yard, back them on and off the bay doors. I really respect the time and effort you put into building the truck. Esp with you having a trailer the way you do. I'm happy to see someone use an actual big boy truck to ship stuff. You gained big respect points from me. I was dying when you was trying to back the trailer onto the pad of the trader. I really enjoy backing these trailers all over the property and even do difficult maneuvers to challenge myself so I can learn more and get my skills higher. Much respect, and thanks for actually building a real truck for shipping.

You should use a detector to make the trailer stands automatically lift when it senses your truck underneath it so you don't need to get in and out to attach the trailer.

I have 2 suggestions: - You should have all engines at tier 5, i did some testing and ran all tiers of gas engine side by side, each with 1 fuel can and set to the lowest setting. I started them all at the same time with a switch, all first 4 tiers ran for around 3:40 minutes while the tier 5 one ran for 17:40 minutes (I think this is a bug and i dont know if it has been fixed already) - You truck needs a pulse circuit attached to the vacuum pump so you dont need to spam the button when packing fruit.

TIP: For the trailer pistons, just mount a sensor directly onto the piston, facing at the ground, make it sense just one block in front of it. When you detach the trailer and it falls on the ground, it will automatically hoist itself up to above hitch height. Attach a gate and button to turn it off when you tow it again!

Absolutely love the veggie crate on the piston thing, and adopted the idea into my explorer/motorhome thing. I left enough room over the rear axles following your design, so I can build a hitch. I really also like the hitch you made. Been searching for a simple hitch system. Between you and johnBane I have also learned how to use the weld tool LOL thank you =) now to build the trailer for when I want to deliver stuff.

@@Ratchet4647 SM vehicles have massive torque, almost anything forward of the center point is going to be lifted during acceleration. Woody has the right idea, all wheel steering is easier. The alternative is tuning the engine way down so that it doesn't accelerate so heavily, but what's the fun in that? :P

You need rear wheel steering, on the cab Just about 10° and the trailer 5° Connecting it up on evey hitch, will be like connecting up up air irl.

I think there is to much friction between the truck and trailer. You need a 5th wheel that can pivot that the trailer rests on. That should allow for much better turning, because the trailer will then be turning above a bearing, instead of trying to glide against concrete. Also, the locking pin was actually pretty spot on. The pin you made out of pipes on the trailer that gets locked onto the truck is called the "kingpin". Maybe you could set up a sensor that auto locks the locking pin. Have that, with the 5th wheel, and you'd basically have a legit big rig. Only thing you would be missing would be electrical and air lines. I wish I could haul stuff like that... would make flat-bedding so much easier not having to secure crap to the trailer. Tbh, this episode was kinda exciting for me. Actually drive a flatbed, and currently in the sleeper of my truck (when I posted this anyways). So watching him do this was rather fun.

Kan theres a way to do centered steering using 3 bearing joints connected to the steering in like a chain so as they cancel out the pivot causing the wheel to rotate on itss axis . this is great and allows for tight fully suspensioned steering however due to bearing flop can flop flop with extreemly heavy loads/

@Mr Bot if you haven't found out how yet. to do this, go to steam > right click game > properties > local files > browse local files. if you are unsure at any point, please please MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR WORLD and any file you change! always do this unless you know exactly what you are doing. if you want to have the clams drop more, then you can go into Survival/Scripts/game/harvestable, open SlimyClam (in notepad++) where it says lootQuanity = 1, change it to whatever you want. 3 would be 3 clams drop when you break the clam, ect ect. you could even change the clams to just drop glue.....if you wanted. to do that you would change "obj_resources_slimyclam" to "obj_consumable_glue". now when a clam is broken it will drop glue. these games are so easy to modify it's pretty nice actually. i mean survival is still pretty new so i wouldn't expect it to be balanced at all right now. so i personally don't mind editing the files to make it more enjoyable. anytime the game updates, these files will revert back and even change depending on what the devs add in the update. just remember this, if this suddenly change back. you could also change the crafting recipe but it's a little bit more involved as you have to find the itemID in another file called Item_names (in craftingrecipes folder). you can also add recipes if you search for the correct ItemIDs. although again it's a lot more involved. recipes are not really workshop ready soooo it's just easier to change the actual loot amount you get from clams.

Couldn't you have put the whole plant and harvest thing on a bearing that is connected to a plate type of thing aka 6 pieces of wood or something which then have the harvester etc on. Then you could rotate that plate on the way back.

Few ideas. A. you should probably have some armor covering the fruit dispensing nozzle. something more to protect the goods. B. On the truck carrier trailer, maybe a sort of scoop for the packages? Something where you can back it into the crates and have them be pushed onto the bed, then dump them out for ease of trade. C. Maybe some sort of fold-out mining array, where you have all the mining equipment in a box. You could drive up to an ore cluster or whatever, press a button, and drill and collectors would automatically fold out to gather the materials or something. Bit of a shot in the dark, don't know how hard these would be to build. But, at the very least, I believe they're suggestions worth considering.

Awesome truck! A swivel up and down barring and a side swivel would be good for mobility and maybe a suspension piece so it can move independently from the truck if you do attach the trailer to the truck this would save lag and make the trailer better

I got 3 tips/recomendations 1. you can stack the fruit crates so you could transport 32 2. you should add a door that opens when you extend the vp 3. and make it a sleeper cab so you can respawn in the truck and add a crate for spuds

Hey Kan you can stack those fruit crates on top of each other so no need to make the trailer even longer. Also if you have trouble steering tight corners, maybe those concrete blocks in the back you mentioned catch up on the hitch. Maybe try and make the hitch out of I-beam corners that way it would be round. The thin pipes should be able to ride inside the I-beam

from my experience fuel consumption is based on the amount of weight the motor has to pull not the weight of the creation

It's not actually a bed, it's a catwalk. Though, many flat bed truckers do use it as a bed of sorts. It's used to help the trucker get up on the trailer, or connect the air/power lines, and get to the equipment that is stored behind the cab. Or were you talking about the rack that is on the back of flatbeds that hold the chains and stuff?

You can always use controllers to angle things so they don't look too blocky ;). I do that for my windshields for example. That will also make your cab look less big. Also upgrade your trailer pistons to make them stronger :).

that's a nice lookin' Cab over Pete (that's what the cab style is called) looks nice and scale, I've never seen a Half Bell Cab Over ( half bell is if you remove the sleeper) I think it looks good, job well done as far as not being able to "Jackknife" you need to extend the area where the fifth wheel is (where the trailer connects) as you are not getting enough room for the trailer to turn as you want to, now in real life you don't want to jackknife, that damages the trailer and the tractor

Hey dude, enjoying your content which I have just recently found. Keep up the good work! I've not played in a while so I am far from expert, but it may be possible your trailer reverses poorly due to been angled up onto the bed of your truck. If it was level with your truck front to back it may turn smoother. Alternatively I may be wrong and its doomed :D.

Nice build, as always. I do think the cabin of the truck is okay since otherwise the back would be too big aswell, but having more space means you could use a Bed in the Cabin for spawnpoint and more chests for starage. The Roof of the Truck could be used for more lights as well as Worklights that illuminate the sides as well as the Back of the truck. The Trailer althou nice is quiet small if you look at it with the Truck in front. and More variations of the Trailer could be done too, like one with a crane if it works to pick up the farmer guys in the cages with a "hook" and maybe even a stacked cargo one so that you would have 2 levels for croppackages *[to the Bed in the back] since the chest should still be usable a fold up bed or a bed which can be raised up in some sort Otherwise Nice Job!

I build a car using that adjustable suspension and somehow it drives extremely well and stable when I turn the suspensions off completely, I think it might be because it’s made out of metal and it’s very heavy but I like it. Thanks for showing us how to build that suspension! 👍

You should use the same flatbed design. And then put a mining arm on it So that way the vehicle could be, the workhorse. Also, you might be able to make a flatbed to hold the buggy. You could make a mobile base. And many other things.

Add some bearings between the double wheels at the back and give the t piece of the pin more space to rotate to make turning better. Also use the extra cab space to convert to a piston engine
