The memory of lugging this beast's absolutely colossal box home from the toy shop in town for my 12th birthday is one I'll always treasure. Can remember my mum being taken aback by the sheer size of it!

with that back panel missing you have an opportunity to have it carrying speeder bikes in a launch bay like they are supposed to in the lore. also gives you a chance to make some white Hoth themed speeder bikes. Either that or the obvious answer is a stormtrooper hot tub.

You could consider chopping off most of the back section and recreating the all terrain ion cannon ATIC from the 1986 The Epic Continues line that Kenner never produced. Maybe if you have a spare cannon from a death star playset you could just mount it on the back.

Ahhhhh, the ultimate 80's toy! I love these projects where you have lots of scrap parts from several toys and turn them into a single working one Dave. I've still got my childhood AT-AT (the only one of my original Star Wars toys I never sold back in the day) and he's still in great condition (other than some slightly yellowed chin guns) with all his parts and box.

Love this repair with one comment I have to make though: Once again I have to point out that you should really get a small tube of lithium grease for plastic and grease up all the gearing in the toy. First it will slow down the wear of the gear and secondly the whole setup will be much quieter. Especially on MOTU vehicles. Lithium grease is used a lot in the railroading hobby. Remember that your model drill had a pack of grease/oil as part of the kit :)

How about putting some extra lights in the back and maybe a place for more figures to fit in. A red light color panel on the end of the wall and a longer light panel on the inside of the roof. There are some images on the inside of an AT AT that can be seen taken from the game Jedi Fallen Order, that is something to look at for directions and something to be inspired from. Looking forward to whatever you decide to do with this, it will be exiting and fun to see.

I remember your last at-at, didnt you make a custom sticker for the back wall so when you opened the side door there were computers etc. If you have enough plasticard left in gray you could make a computer console like your sticker but 3 dimensional. I also like the idea of making the rear plate into a door for a speeder bike and biker to come out. Great job so far. I remember you getting those gromits but i cant remember what they were for. A transformer perhaps?

Very nice work, i like the gunrepairs, need to fix mine aswell, still sorcing parts. Wih regards to the back: How about a speederbike or minirig-vehicle storage or a hidden canon post (death star canon) with slidable fixture, besides fixing the backpiece (which can open and close). If you are customising offcourse? You could also add some kind of rigging or jumpropes for descending stormtroopers?😁💯

Nice job so far! Since you're looking for suggestions, some SW reference materials indicate that the AT-ATs hold speeder bikes inside, along with additional troops. Maybe build a rack to hold one or two speeder bikes? Edit: I just spotted the other comment with the same suggestion. Therefore, I second this idea.

I wonder if an Isp-6 would fit in the back. I can imagine the tailgate opening and one of them coming out and the wings folding down like the full size imperial shuttle. A hoth themed Isp-6 could be cool. Unrelated point, I seem to remember that you had to buy a two pack of bulbs for the at-at last time. Im guessing you used the second or gave it so someone who needed one for theirs. Still, the led works well.

Very nice! Do you know how many versions of the AT-AT were made? Mine has removable gun shields, but that doesn't look like the case here? For the interior, what about magnet fastners for the door? The original clip is good enough, but imagine how satisfying it would be if it snapped shut.

This makes think about the AT-ST in The Mandalorian season 1. It was a battered one in the hands of a Marauding Gang, they had given it markings of their choosing. I suppose you could do something similar but that might require more stickers or a custom paint job to make it look dirty and "tattooed" with Gang colors 🙂
