The flow rate of a standard check valve is set but if you can build a check valve that is adjustable to close at the peak intake water flow you can increase final pressure of pumped water.

Exactly, as a matter of fact we can always put few pieces of metal washer on top of the valve. This washer and their weight can be accustomed to your preference, if you want it to be heavier, put more washer and vice versa. Video shared for your reference kzbin.info/www/bejne/gqeYlYpsbqeIr68
