I cant believe we've made it this far!! In today's video, we are finally able to fit up our front end and see what it all looks like. Today is a massive test to see if our front end rebuild actually work. If we can get our GTS Street cup fenders, front bumper, and carbon fiber bonnet to all line up, we can start finishing this rebuild!!

I believe(could be wrong) the GT4/RS caymans have a piece that goes between the Hood and front bumper. Which is why that gap is there.

I was going to mention this. It is a carbon trim piece that acts like a hood air intake.

Hi Dustin, that gap between the hood and bumper is normal, it is part of the design, and there an accessories to be put on it.

That hood definitely needs partial paint and a graphic and I think you’re missing a trim piece for the bumper that will close that hood gap.

13:00 YES! Please make it matte clear so it looks like dry carbon. I love this episode so much. I was hoping that you were gonna make basically a "GT4RS at home" (but in a good way, lol), and that's exactly what you're doing! I can't wait to see it painted and together. Please say you got the GT4 swan neck wing for it too... I know I'll just have to wait and see probably, and that's fine. This thing is gonna be so SICK when it's done!! You've kinda make it a semi-Weissach Package car with that hood, lol. Just need the carbon swan neck wing to complete it!

Alternatively, you could do matte PPF on the hood instead of having them re-clear it. Dry carbon look + extra protection on one of the most important parts of the front end as well.

Matte carbon hood with matte carbon vents to match would be absolutely perfect. Plus matte for any of the other carbon bits you add.

‘Dry’ carbon is not a reference to the glossy or matte finish. It is whether the hood was made with dry pre-preg carbon fiber cloth or wet carbon and resin layup.

Some solid progress guys! Well done! And congrats on the massive win that the frame is straight and everything lines up! As for the gap in the bonnet if new hinges ain't doing it, I think there's might be a lip/mounting plate/shroud whatever you name it is on top of the front as well along with maybe a rubber strip or something that then connects to the bonnet. No expert, just sharing my thoughts. it might even be visible in the footage of picking the car up. Cause something black sits near it.

I might be wrong but, I’m almost certain you’re missing a trim piece. Most sports cars put random trim pieces between the gaps to keep wind noise down. Specially on most European cars. All my Benz’s have it.

20:30 Maybe when you install whatever part you're talking about that "squishes everything together", maybe then the hood-to-bumper gap will line up better. You don't need to modify move the hinges or the hood, because the top of the hood where the rear part of the front fenders are lines up perfectly from just looking at it in this video. This is just a guess, but it's probably just because you don't have some of the missing structural pieces for the front end or the tub/frunk area.

Bring your chassis to a body shop with a "car o liner" to make sure every point of measurement is correct along with anything that could possibly be "tweaked" at a slightly different angle
