Just got home from work and bam a new Traplines and Inlines video. It’s fantastic how fast your knowledge is growing, the show is becoming even more compelling with each new episode. The videos are packed with impressive new projects, positive excitement and most important you’re having fun. A testament to the man behind the camera from the planning to the final video production. Thanks so much! Please give us an update on Cougar. Be safe my friend.

I looked at homedepot for those magnets too. No luck. You have some great toys and you put them to good use. I never would have made the platforms the way you did. yours are solid. Painting is always the right way to finish it up. Great to see you. Good video. Pax.

Kyle! Glad to see you’re still given ‘er out in the bush. Here’s a tip from an old retired firefighter. Consider doing a video on your new fire extinguisher. Like a wise old trapper told me, “Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it!” Cheers from Edmonton!

this was the first video i’ve watched where welding made sense to me. Thanks. The only thing I can think of to make those adjustable blocks better would be a cylindrical hole in the center of your ‘+’ pieces, to ensure that threaded rod stays properly vertical. If it’s extended the full 11”, or even 9”, the nut by itself doesn’t seem like it would provide enough stability to prevent it from shifting off-center

Great idea for the bocks, your very creative and I enjoy that in your videos. For the welding smoke have a fan in window sucking air out and other window open. Works great

maybe instead of using standard nuts which only grab onto a few threads, you should see if a couple couplers butted together on the ready rod then weld them together. not only will they grab more thread allowing it to hold more weight, it should also be easier to adjust with a wrench if the coupler sticks above the concrete.. just a thought.. Awesome work btw. cheers!

Appreciate ya bud. 2:32 take it from an old man who's been there... you need a respirator when grinding and when welding. 8:36 there it is....the round pink filters fit under your hood better, they usually have them in the paint department in menards. The tool section has the big filters like on your respirator, but they don't fit under your hood so well you have to stretch your hood around them and it seems to always let's a little light get around the hood on mine.

Hey man I've never left a comment before, I was just wondering if you heard about the Canadian gov trying to stop KZbinrs channels from being seen. I've been watching since you started building your cabin. Take care boys
@tedcottenden222 жыл бұрын
I don’t normally comment twice but decided to after this video when Traplines and Inlines states he doesn’t know exactly the stress or weight his design will take 11:28. And no one has yet provided a comment stating any load numbers. So here is what I have to offer. Shaw Brick in NS rates their Deck-Blocks compressive strength at 18 MPa minimum = approximately 2610 PSI. Made in China adjustable deck support brackets sold at HomeHardware rates to support 2725 lbs. each. Trapline and Inlines deck support bracket appears to be a heavy-duty (heavier implied) support in comparison. Just saying, I’d buy the Traplines and Inlines design version any day. One more piece of info is on the 4”x4”x8 ft. pressure treated (incised lumber) spruce post has an axial (vertical) load bearing capacity of about 6000 lbs. before buckling and even more if correctly braced or a shorter post used. Virtually everything I have tested exceeds the engineering design strength by a good margin. I am not a structural design engineer but at my job as a QA Lab Tech, destruct testing to failure of aircraft parts and materials to standard test methods like ASTM standards is what I do. And I do encourage anyone to do their own research when calculating load capacity for their specific build. Traplines and Inlines is exceptionally good with math (trig.) and physics calculations plotting the design on paper before beginning the job. Hope this may be helpful. Be safe my friend.

drop a piece of copper pipe over your threads while welding to keep the splatter off and or spray them with PAM or any vegetable spray.
@michaelmorgan14222 жыл бұрын
I would use a double nut , more threads to hold the weight the better
