Congratulations to Nigeria from Canada. I have never been to the continent of Africa, but I was amazed by this video. More and more of these kind of videos should be shown to the world. Not just to compete with each other, but to learn from each other. The organization World Vision shows poverty videos from Africa so people can donate, but we need to see the real Africa too. Well done Nigeria! I believe if Nations stop focusing on military powers, and focus on humanity, there is enough food and wealth on this earth for every single person to have a great life.

@Vaughn reed jr Well, they are not that important to be honest. In Africa poor places are everywhere. In Europe the poor parts for example in France are populated by Africans in ghettos outside the touristic zones and they are not as abundant as in Africa. Places like Romania and Macedonia are irrelevant yet you can see that they have many poor areas. If you want to see poor parts in Europe then use internet.

@@simonbrown7455 😂😂 nice one hahaha. Yes it is true we didn't have no choise indeed. It is a work that has been going on for centuries and it will never be finished. We did proclaim thousands and thousands of km2 back from the sea. We did also turn a bay of the North sea called the Southern sea into one big lake of 5 thousand km2, called the Ijssel lake. And in that lake we created +/- 1500 km2 of land in the last 60 years. If you take a map of the Netherlands from one hundred years ago and put it next to a modern map you would not recognize it. If a very small nation like the Netherlands can do this, I'm very confident that the beautifull people of Nigeria will also achieve their goals. I do have all confidence in them ! 👍💪✌😊

@@swissbiggy hahhaha i love you guys. True true true. Yeah im aware of the history of the Netherlands its pretty epic. Im also sure the UK had to lease pumps from holland during past floods. I just feel for that kind of development resorces could be more wisely distributed. Building into a rising sea in knowing what we know seems wasteful especially for lavish homes and offices. It seems like an unsustainable location and the wealth could be better distibuted across the city. Say spend the money and time it takes to build up the land into infrastructure. The dutch cut off the sea right ? There was already a rough outline to follow and fill but this project is essentially branching out into the sea.

When Nigeria builds this, it will have risen tremendously in appeal and peak interest in tourism which may relieve the dependency of its natural resources to generate GDP. This was the same route the UAE took and now there's less dependence on their Oil and more on tourism. If they build one of the tallest towers in the world at some point, that would definitely bring tourism.

They always tell us how projects like these bring in investments, but let's be honest in a corrupt country like Nigeria that money will never trickle down in a meaningful way. Ways to bring in actual long-term investments? An educated workforce with a decent standard of living and legitimate possibilities to move in the social strata will create space for entrepreneurship and thus foreign investment, on top of increasing domestic demand and investment. Creating shiny new waterfronts works only if you want to be the fancy tourist destination in the region.

@@Greippi10 Problem is, creating an educated workforce takes a very large amount of time, which is filled with slow, unnoticeable progress - at least, unnoticeable to foreign investors. By making this project, the city/country have something to point at and say "look at this! We're making progress right now!" instead of just telling investors that they're slowly creating an educated workforce that will be eager to work and become entrepreneurs. I'm not saying it's a good thing, but showboating like this is the only way to get the attention of foreign investors.

@@jasonok1436 poverty went down from 53% to 35% in less than 20 years. Africa GDP went from 600 billion to almost 3.1 trillion in 20 years. HIV is no longer the biggest killer in Africa. Child mortality has decreased. Urbanisation has risen to almost 45%, when colonisation ended in Africa only 15% of Africans lived in cities. Yesterday mark the beginning of a new Age for Africa with Africa Continent Free Trade Agreement (ACFTA) removing tariff on 90% of ALL goods in Africa which will increase inter trade and has created the largest trading block in history with 1.3 billion people. 70% of Africa population is younger than 25 years old, there will be 2.4 billion Africans by 2050 and 4.4 billion Africans by the end of the century. Due to ACFTA by the end of the century the Africa market will be larger than China, India, USA and Europe COMBINED! Making it the largest market the world has EVER seen! So Africa future looks bright now let's look at Europe future by 2050 the European population is set to decrease from 700 Million today to 500-600 Million people with 1/3 of the European population being retiring age, so essentially making Europe the oldest continent on the Planet, but what does that mean for Europe? A smaller workforce= Less Tax, Less Tax= Less money for Infrastructure, Wars or pretty much anything 😂😂 So with this information please explain to me what logical reason would I have to be jealous of white people? You're a dying race and a dying world power, the future is shifting to Asia and Africa like it was BEFORE European colonisation. Africans and Asians are just taking back their rightful place in the world stage.
