Nice job! Is there a reason why you didn't connect all of the tp4056 together via paralleling each board as oppose to using a bus bar?
@NERDVilleUK
@NERDVilleUK 6 жыл бұрын
by the time the last one got connected the load being induced would have burnt out the probably 30 of these modules, the bus bar was a good way of distributing the draw current from each module and they can act independently
@thunderkat77
@thunderkat77 6 жыл бұрын
ok cool, i just see people doing that. Is this an all or none type of deal, i.e. when the unit is turned on, everything is on... its a great device if you have thousands of cells to process. It would be cool if you can integrate discharging into the system and leverage IoT for remote monitoring... again, just for fun and keep the brain active. I like the fact you didnt release this design early... so that others wouldn't copy it.

@NERDVilleUK
@NERDVilleUK 6 жыл бұрын
Its a really good suggestion and I do practise designing components to have multiple use. But in this particular part I did give this some thought and felt the risk was too great in something shorting. Besides, this part is better when its removable in case I need to replace damaged or failed TP4056 modules Thanks for watching and commenting

@NERDVilleUK
@NERDVilleUK 6 жыл бұрын
Yes its a fair comment but you can employ local services such as the place I buy my acrylic from they offer a cutting service and charge per size of pieces being cut and machine time and prices start from £2. Google a company online to you that also sells acrylic sheet, you'll be surprised how cost effective it can be.

Yep I have a stockpile of 18650s amassed close to 20,000 cells and looking for more, but the main point for putting the BFC is just interested in seeing if you can, as well as can it be automated for feeding this at a .v2 stage ;-)

While the heatsinking looks cool I think it is overly complex and "expensive" to manufacture. I would have gone with those small heatsinks which adhere using a thermal pad, you will also have no issues with regards to height

As you aren’t running any real pressure in the copper coolant pipe, you could have used 2 part epoxy instead of solder.
@Hawk7886
@Hawk7886 6 жыл бұрын
evilution soldering is quicker and easier. Only takes a minute to flux and sweat copper, much faster than messing with epoxy.

There are quite a few things you need to improve. First: Why the turning design? A straight design would be way easier to build and later to work with. Second: The 1x 18650 Holders you bought are crap when it comes to taking out the cells. Either you hurt your hands after a few or you take a tool and damage the insulation of the cell. Try something 3d printed with a gab between cells. Third: As I found out tp4056 don't need that much of a cooling system... you will see!
