Tons of advance construction tips all in one video! Ed, someone asked if we should put a cage over the cleanout fitting? For locating and clean of debris IF you need to use.
@edbeaulieu59165 жыл бұрын
Chris Wilson Sounds like a good idea! The clean out fitting is located in a relatively small area of the deepest point of the pond approx. 8’ diameter, the fitting is exactly in the middle so I hope it’s not too hard to locate?

Awesome tips and nice to see some cooperation with the filming. A lot easier to understand when Ed's hands are also in view.

Hi Ed, just wondering why you didn't install a hydro-static relief drain under the liner during construction. We do it on every pond that we suspect this problem could occur on.
@edbeaulieu59165 жыл бұрын
AquaticLifestyles I agree! We don’t install the sub-liner drainage systems on every project, it depends on the soils and if we see groundwater during excavation. We didn’t see the normal signs and it backfired on us!

@@edbeaulieu5916 I understand. Great fix, by the way.

Love these videos! Make sure that drain is well covered by rocks and gravel! Seems there is always a human or a few that think unscrewing something like that would be funny.

Would It be a good idea to put french drains below the bottom of the pond to drain off the water that is causing the hydro-static pressure if you have a high water table?
@edbeaulieu59165 жыл бұрын
e Rob Yes, Definitely easier to install it during the excavation process! We didn’t see the normal signs of high groundwater intrusion so we didn’t install the drainage system, but that didn’t work for us this time.....

Another lesson learned. Installing bulkhead fitting. Thanks Ed. I killed all my fish by leaving the hose on (accidentally) for 24hrs. It must have been the chlorine in the city water. We left, came back and they were all dead. UPDATE, I STILL HAVE S GUPPY AND PLECO!!!

Sean Odonnell That’s awful! It’s happened to me too..... Too much chlorine in the city water and a huge difference in temperatures!
