Just a suggestion, you should take frequency response measurements with an RTA mic during each phase, then you can see exactly what happens with each new addition
@hallyMUSICprojecTАй бұрын
Because this dude hasn't taken frequency measurements of his room and frankly hasn't a clue what he's doing, he has wasted an obscene amount of money and there is zero low end treatment being considered. All he has done is kill the highs and the upper mids.

@jammynem2 жыл бұрын
I worry that your mids and highs are going to be super controlled but your bass is not….I’m not sure how 2” is going to be enough to absorb the bass end in any meaningful way?? I think you need a lot more depth and maybe a limp mass membrane to control the low end from my experience. Hope I’m wrong and it works out for tho Andrew, I remember being astounded at how flat Colts room was so I’m hoping yours is similar

I been waiting for this video to drop! First off, Fabric wall is EXPENSIVE! I mean he never said it'd be cheap and Quality costs, but I just got a quote for the tracks by themselves, WITHOUT the tools and fabric. For those I'll look for alternatives first, if none i'll bite the bullet because I know it's worth it. I'm building my home studio with the help of these guys so thank you for posting these videos, I wanted to document my process with costs included but eh. Yeah watch ya'll pockets lol. Thanks Dude still helping me achieve this.

FINALLY!!! Been holding my breathe to see you take the next step. It's how I enjoy my morning coffee before work. I think I will go this route for my walls now that I see what you did. I wont be able to afford the kit you used but, I have an idea how to get the same results. Unfinished sheet rock walls I don't want to have to mud and tape. This will cover it up nicely and give me the dampening I need. Thanks A.M.... Keep those vids coming.

I am loving the track system that Colt and you use to achieve a smooth seamless sound wall, but at the risk of asking a stupid question, what if you reversed the dynamic of “Wisper walls and wood floors ( that would of course be treated with some carpets) and instead had the floor carpeted and the walls with hanging treatment (like carpet is to the wood floor) how would reversing this affect the outcome (Pros & Cons) why one way is better/worse than the other??? FYI: I’m buying a new house that has carpet in the upstairs studio area (very similar to your and Colt’s) and wanted to get some feedback before I needlessly rip up the “BRAND NEW” carpet in the Brand New house just replace it with wood flooring!!! Thanks in advance for your in put!!!

So my future writing space(won't be mixing in there for production, only for demo's) does have very thick Rockwool insulation, but has 9mm plywood on top of that. Would it negate all the bass trap effects, surely the long waves will pass right trough? I am going to be putting thick felt on top of it, and then install loads of slats to it with space in between to get a nice look and to act as deflectors.

thank you for this video full of ideas, It's great to have such a good studio to make music👍🏽 however I have some concerns: I'm moving into an apartment with my little family (my wife and our baby ) and I plan to make one of the rooms my home recording studio except that it is really small, barely 9 m2 with one of the walls directly outside, on the road. So with the passing of cars, children who shout when they are having fun, I fear for my voice recordings and I really don't want to be forced to go and do my voice recordings in another studio, and in plus I really can not take the risk of renting a room because I start and I do not have a big budget. I am therefore hesitant between the fact of either building, despite the "smallness" of the space, a small voice recording booth (1.70 m long by 1.30 m wide) or just dealing with the acoustics of the room (the sound insulation being impossible given its narrowness according to what they say) and use a portable screen absorber miscreen (funny pro). But that remains apprehensions so I would really like to have your expert opinion, it would be really too nice, thank you.
