those flat bits with a small pad ... put a rotor in the building and a spotlight on the rotor and have it shine across the surface down to the ice ... great for night time lighting adding bright to a dark structure

oh ... add a few or a pair of spotlights into the smoke vent ... then you can colour it as well ... a yellow with flashing red say ... and blue strobes near the rim outside .... on the window level ... make a small control room with a cockpit cab the crane looking one ... and the rest is open catwalks with railings ... then you have the inspection catwalk and the work area that has a closed in main operations and a lounge looking out and in ... each face that you can do it put a ladder going down to where the top of the drills would be ... before drilling ... and on the angle faces set a stairway up ... on the ones nearest the front door ... also the flat section on the 45's mark a landing pad with a connector in the middle ... not connected ... and it becomes a recharge spot or shuttle docking

Fantastic work across the line! A thought about the drill rig: Instead of one big set of rotating drills on each arms, I think several 3-4 smaller ones could look even better. More separate rotating axles and it would make more sense constructionwise, to spread the load. And, you could offset the centres on the two opposing pairs, to cover the areas in between.

It doesn't look like it'll quite meet in the center. Maybe put some drills below the main "arm" of the rig to clear the center section? IIRC you had one horizontal drill on the end of your mountain drills, that could keep the junction between the holes clear. That said, it looks REALLY impressive and I suspect I'm going to love seeing it turned on!

In the drill rig. If you set the two sub radius arms at 90* to each other and have them rotate in opposite directions you'll be able to cover the center of the circle. Think hand mixer. Love your content. Keep up the big work!

So, under the central pistons, add another rotor and set of drill heads to cover the central core. You can even set them to turn the other direction from the "Arms", just to weed out those of us with ADD. BTW: I bought this game (and all the DLC's) after watching your first 2 episodes. Loving this series Skye, great fun watching you build ever more insane structures 😎 A couple of thoughts for the drill rig; If you get the rotation timing right, you could have another set of drills in the centre that overlap the external sets and ensure the whole areas gets bored out. I would probably only do the two arms for that though. With all your timer blocks, event controllers and what have you, if you put in a rotor/hinge with a small head, you can fit all of your computing requirements in a much smaller space. Also, I saw someone else suggest having the drill pistons go through the centre of whatever control room you create. Sounds cool to me 👍

As I'm looking at your drill set up, if you shorten the arms a few blocks, you could add more drills to get the middle. Another option is, to add a center drill set up so everything gets drilled and you consume more ice. Sorry, it's the mechanical engineer in me seeing a possible opportunity to increase your drilling production :P I've also discovered there are different layers of ice as you drill down. It starts off as ice, then stone, then ice, then stone for a long way down and I believe there are ice pockets the further you drill down.

So far the Atmos Chimney is starting to look truly amazing, soo much details and more to come! I think a dash or red would look good, 2 horizontal red lines around the top near the chimney's exhaust, to match with the deck of shagger deep base.. A bit of a warning sign thingy
@takumi2023

If youre worried about the middle not being drilled, you could overlap the drill area and offset the rotation by a couple of degrees. The problem is if there's ever a stoppage on one of the drill but not the others. 😂

I am really enjoying watching your process. I constantly get stuck myself when building things. One suggestion for the raised structural part that reaches up to the center tower part. Currently, it looks like the two go into the base of the tower, but it looks a bit small for support. I dont know if it will look good, but if you make that bottom part of the center tower thicker where the supports come in, it might look more solid. Not sure since I cant play with it myself, but bumping that part out to meet the supports might look nice.

Looking good. IMHO different shades of blue might work to highlight/play down sections. When you put the other sets of drills in, will they collide when the arms are pointing at each other? Is that the calculation you did? If they do collide, maybe you can you rotate two opposite rotors 45 degrees to make sure the arms won't meet. But you'll need to ensure they stay in sync or Klang may get you. Loving the series!
@JAFlys
@JAFlys 12 сағат бұрын
Drills should be like a hand mixer. The individual arrays need to extend past center but offset in relation to each other as to not collide. This will clear out the center ice and not create a giant donut pattern.

Loving the series. I think the drills arms might look good with an addition 2 arms on them, so you have a North, East, south, West type config, as you're intending with the main boom arms (if I understood you correctly). I also think it would be good to have each rotor move the opposite way to its neighbour (CW,CCW,CW,CCW). In theory, you could have them longer and overlapping without collisions... it would certainly look cool, and if you move the position of the rotors inwards, is should allow you to mine more of the centre.

21:58 Those welds only exist there because they are boundaries from two sharp edges from diagonal blocks. If you smooth out the inside or that part with diagonals, the welds will disappear. You could have made overlapping circles on the drill by having the drills on only a single line and staggering the direction 90 degrees between them. Then stagger the rotor direction, and the drills would never collide.

the support arms going to the end drills also carry drills on every other spot .... so as it goes around they drill it out and the ends spin and drill there ... I do suggest keeping the end drills to 5 across or some small like that ... each drill on every other spot going to them is good as their reach will clear in between .... also stagger them on each arm ... 2 arms on even blocks 2 arms on odd ... it avoids doom blocks from happening

With painting pay attention when painting bigger areas. Ctrl is 3*3, Shift is 5*5, but if you hold down Ctrl+Shift and paint, it paints the FULL grid. I have no idea how many times I messed it up, holding it down accidentally and in creative its easy, cause you just load in an older blueprint but with survival you have to either load in the world, or repaint the full grid.

For the SHAGGER DEEP front deck supports, there is a curved hypotenuse. I believe it would look more complete to add the two other triangle legs butted up against the cliff wall and the underside of the deck. Leave the center hollow. Don't know if it's possible to bevel the hypotenuse given the block choice for diagonals but it would finish all the legs off nicely. This would make the deck look strong enough to support a very large ship parked on the deck. Plus it will add more interest to the main base
