Probably not a good idea to assemble the engine dry like that. I'd recommend using an engine assembly oil. that thick head gasket you made likely lowered the compression ratio making the engine make much less power. Nice job on the gearbox though! that was pretty dang cool.

Saw you painted the chassis black. Seems you had the gearbox and engine in and out a lot judging by the paint worn off. Those engines are fine for static models. They're not know to last long in this situation. Good build though

Just a question but when you showed putting the head on and then tightening it down I noticed you started at one end. Is that how you tightened the head, from one end to the other ?. I'm no mechanic, only for my own gear, but I was told way back to start tightening from the centre and work outwards in a circle, this avoids the creep that inevitably happens when starting from one end. Just curious, no criticism intended. It's a beautiful engine.
@LiuMutouАй бұрын
I alternately tightened all the fastening screws from the middle to the periphery for the first time, but in the video, I edited out some of the movements that were not smooth enough to make them look smoother

Dude you HAVE TO PRELUBE! Even if you crank the engine with the ignition inactive you will 100% cause `premature wear. This engine was done before it even got started because of that one simple step being overlooked. It might run ok for a bit because i6 are inherently well balanced but, it'll never perform as well as an engine that was assembled properly.

No, this just proves you haven't seen how really skilled people work. The guy in the video is inventive, he quickly makes what at best are temporary things using rather basic tools, which is cool for sure - but not really skilled. The engine was assembled wrong at several points, there are specific orders to how you assemble an engine and specific kinds of lube that there are VERY good reasons to use in assembly that he did not use, at least on camera. None of the bolts were assembled in correct order, or torqued in correct order or AT ALL, and so on. The alu plate gasket is a massive problem for far too many reasons to list here, but it is a bad gasket and makes the whole engine barely functional since it drops the compression to nothing, and it will probably result in the engine having maybe half of it's potential power on a good day - if it can be made to run reliably at all. Which I doubt, because of the assembly being incorrectly done. And so on and on and on. It's a cool video to watch so long as you are not going to replicate what he does expecting it to work properly.re temporary things using rather basic tools, which is cool for sure - but not really skilled. Also as the pistons went in so easily the compressions cannot be that high surely, so is it going to be that quick I wonder. I can get 60+ mph on grass with a single 32cc 2 stroke in my 1/5 scale so is it worth all the expense just to have the sound of 6 cylinders?
