The use of the term Brahmanical in religious sense is problematic because it paints the non-Brahmans followers as an unconvinced mass available for conversion.

Agreed. It could have been better used with word like "vedic" or "ritualist" or simply "hindu"

Bramhanical doesn't necessarily has to do only with "Brahmins". It encompasses all castes. Hinduism as we know today is influenced by Bhakti movement. Before that it was "Bramhanical", the religion was full of rituals. It's an academic term, and one will know more about it by reading books
