Hi Amy, I am an Australian high school teacher of some thirty years (not drama) and I have done accents for much of my life in the classroom as a fun thing. I have looked at various accent coaches online. I can do a range of accents including Brooklyn (ish) So I can make some New York sounds, but as you would say the attitude is the thing; and I am still learning to 'trumpet' and develop what I see as a basic indignant attitude to the world - without simply being loud) Also when you do New York I also hear an almost 'Lavoyne and Shoylie thing goin auwn' as well, as a small part of your inflection, but it is a part that I do not have yet. I was really loved your Australian accent as I rarely find them convincing and I battle with new Zealand myself because it is so similar to ours. Your Aussie accent is totally believable. (especially it was just understated in the intro and I really could not tell you were not Australian - easier to do an obvious more over the top accent. So Two things: 1. Thanks for the uncommon depth in all that you do. 2. thanks for the way that you give away a whole heap of extra stuff in each video by using that accent itself when teaching a particular aspect. I am a natural mimic so some of what I do is just by listening and copying without understanding and so I really benefit from these 'give aways'. Many thanks, John in Australia
