I think there is no server running unlike Studio which has a local server running The background app is purely client-sided, altrough you might be able to run localscripts, so if you placed a standard script and set it's runcontext to client it might work idk or it might not Besides, it's just pure Luau code anyway so it's not like you can exploit that

you can still do this with bloxstrap on a mac if you u install something that allows you to install windows applications

Help, for some reason, the background turned grey like the normal background and it doesn't work at all, but when I clicked into the editor the first time it showed up for a split second but then disappears.

IMPORTANT, if the roblox background revert your changes. then open bloxstrap and turn off the setting it will keep your changes
