The argument is simple. *How can farmers avoid the spiral into debt that Agribusiness intends to trap them.* What steps will get them started with the level of potential they can feel comfortable with. The list of steps or amendments that could be taken is long but nature is always on the side of those who make the effort to deeply understand her processes. The context is limited to what rainfall can be expected, how many growing days, what is the farmer skilled at farming, how much time and spare capital can he invest in the farm, and where is the best spot to start? Doing anything is a step forward, adding litter/compost, planting a cover crop between growing seasons, keyline-informed ripping, etc. But they have to want their independence first. We live at a time when professional victims are doing very well and governments LOVE them, to death.
