The issue with creating a scaled blackbird is that it wasnt designed for lift which an rc version would need so much more of, which could be generated with speed as a trade off, however an rc version could be made withactual scaled jet engines

I printed the eclipson eww180 and its an amazing flying plane. I printed it out of normal PLA in about a week with 1 printer and the screws pulled through the motor mount after using a 4s. So it could have been avoided by using washers. It was almost a similar but more traumatic landing. I now have LW-PLA and I'm going to document the whole build now that I know it flies so great. I love the landing gear design that can be used with rubber bands and it works flawlessly. The designs they have are so good and worth it If you have a 3d printer!

5x6.5x2 prop, NH 2750kv Avenger, 5s 1550 100c pack, flat and level 120mph. You really need to cut a groove from tip to tip half inch deep and use a half inch wide by 1/16th in thick carbon spar glued in to the groove you cut. The plane can deff pull the Gs with the setup I'm running and can sustain those Gs... If you don't do a spar like I said and you are running a lot of control surface throw you will fold it or snap thr wings. I have built 3 so far, one as I said above, another that's running 4s with a 6x4.5x3 prop on a 2400kv F40 Pro III 2306 and it's great. Pretty quick but can back off and fly for a long time and it's a very light setup. I also did one that's running 6s 1300mah, on 2806 1600kv running a 7in prop and it's excellent as a FPV rig and what I'm using it for. I setup with Inav on a F405 board with GPS and Crossfire and a TBS VTX at 800mw. It will pull really low amps at about 35mph cruise speed on this setup and with the 6s 1300 or 1550s flight time is excellent. It's pretty efficient if you setup to be and it's ultra stable along with fairly quick on a setup like the FPV setup I built. It will run around 85mph on that setup.. So long as you arent running above 80% throttle it's efficient... At 60% throttle it's flying around 65mph and pulling around 13amps.... At cruise its its flying around 30 to 35mph and pulling around 5A, you could easily use this same setup with 4s 2800mah pack as well so long as you just plan on cruising because that setup on 4s is around 60mph WOT... On 4s I run a 8 inch bi blade on it instead of the 7in that I run on 6s. The plane is excellent as is except for the need for the carbor flat bar spar channeled and glued in if you plan on running a high KV high speed power system and a lot of throw.. The one other thing I do is laminate the wings in thin lamination film, it will stiffen up it up some and you won't have the slight buffeting when getting up around 100mph or over that will happen if you don't laminate the wings. I believe it's due to a slight bit of flex in the putter wing that happened when you start moving pretty good and gets noticeable as soon as you are flat and level up around 100mph.. If you are on a 70 to 80mph wot power system then I wouldn't worry about doing it unless you want to (I did it on all the models I built, I have 3 currently but have built 5. One given to my friend and one was a full loss on a fast setup that I snapped a wing on about the 10th flight that's when I started doing the flat carbon spar that I cut a groove in and plane sideways so it's ULTRA stiff.) but over all it is a good idea to do it as it will stiffen the plane and it will have better flight performance with it. On a more duration focused setup you can get away without the spar as your speeds won't be high enough nor your throws making you having to worry about it but I would deff 100% laminate the wing on a setup like that if you bypass doing a spar and it will insure the plane holds together for a long time. This is a fantastic plane, in 2 months I've built 5 and flying the heck out of the 3 I have.. The FPV plane is so awesome and on a small setup and a 2800mah 4s the duration is excellent. Last week I was flying out to a island that's about two miles out (here in Florida) and looking for wild horses... The island is around 6 miles across and 2 miles from where I launched. This setup with the 8in prop on 4s 2800s speed will be around 30 to 35mph at cruise throttle and pulling around 6.5 to 7 amps. But during this flight I was using 4s 18650 and on this setup I get a solid 45 minutes of flight time at cruise power. I flew out and over the island about 100 feet AGL and slowed down to around 25mph ground speed and the plane is perfectly happy to fly that slow.. I flew to a field towards the back of the island around 6 miles Los for me and 150AGL and found a pack of wild horses and flew over them filming them for about 20 mins, surprising they never ran but it is fairly quiet and I was 150 feet high and not flying directly over them to keep them in frame as much as possible. At one point I was around 8miles LOS out from my self and never worried as coming home I knew I had a 10mph tail wind and I headed home with plenty of pack left. This is a long post but it's just telling you guys how fantastic this plane is and how versatile it is. It can be a fast flyer on mini quad batteries and motors and it can be a excellent medium long duration FPV plane and all in between. I may built another and go full long range on it with 915mhz telemetry and 1.2 video, proper power system and a 4s 2p 18650 pack, full Inav setup or full Eagletree system and looking at maybe 2 to 2.5 hour duration on a fit in the truck size package. I know the plane would be capable efficiency wise with the right power system.

Josh kept mentioning the prop torque rolling the airframe. Also, I'm loving the father son dynamic of the show lately. It's definitely a "feel good" show again!!
