The theatres look awesome (again 🤣), and the placement of the theatre being so close to the bridges helps sell the alleyway as being shady and dangerous

Thanks Taylor, I think the sticker you created of the broken necklace is going to look perfect down the alley way.

@ I can't wait to see it! I've got a few weeks off after the New Year from university, so I will try to get a few more designs made. I recently started working on a family picture of the Waynes. So far, it's just Thomas Wayne, but I think it looks pretty cool!

Thanks @PAL.Studios. It certainly seems to be the tidiest option that I have come up with (or will be once I get the tiles in the correct colour).

@dubbzibricks2 күн бұрын
100% @adamlocky. Poison Ivy is one character who I can not wait to do a scene for. She is going to add some really bright and much needed colour to the city.
@dawsondavis6642 күн бұрын
An intricate Botanical Garden (with a gardening workshop next to it) - like a smaller version the Kew Gardens Glasshouse/Greenhouse - allowing for a section of that greenhouse spreading to cover the rooftop of the workshop, to give it some elevation - enabling this separate greenhouse to become Poison Ivy's lair...

I honestly wouldn't have bothered bricking the roads and would've simply tried to stack road baseplates on your green baseplates, crossing fingers to find any way to make them fit and latch on to the rest of the build due to baseplate thickness compared to that of a single brick layer great work again !

Thanks@@matthieudesormeau2169 . Reason I have gone for brick built roads is to enable me to get a lot of details in further down the road

@dubbzibricks2 күн бұрын
Hall of Justice, interesting idea. Hadn't thought about that one yet. 👍

For the sign and throughout the city, I think maybe you should consider to print brick board advert and brick world signs such as the Gotham City sign and so on. Just an idea, but I think it would elevate the quality of your build.
@dubbzibricks2 күн бұрын
Definitely @Maguzzo84. Someone is kindly designing some stickers for the city. But I will definitely be needing to either print tiles or put stickers on for the smaller signs. I am very much a LEGO purist, so If I can find LEGO produced printed bricks, that would be perfect, however I know that is going to be very unlikely.

Maybe the angled bit of the road could be a little wider than the 90 degree bits. If you extend it equally in both directions, the middle stripes will shift towards the outside of the corner and line up better with those on the 90 degree bits.
@dubbzibricks2 күн бұрын
Just after I finished editing the video I saw a way that will solve the problem. I just need to find out the parts. What you have suggested sounds very similar to what I was thinking @kerrlocher. Great minds 😉

@@dubbzibricks Looking forward to that update 🙌🏼
@bernd-das-brot2 күн бұрын
Have the courage to leave gaps! Things don't always fit the way you want them to if you leave the 90° grid, but it looks more natural. The city planners from North America in particular are so stuck in the grid that it hurts the eyes of Europeans! 😁
@dubbzibricks2 күн бұрын
The main reason for covering the gaps is so you can't see all of the multi colour filler plate and bricks underneath.
@MixABrix3 күн бұрын
Angles and curves you do like to make it difficult for yourself haha. But seriously looks great, love the designs on that theatre was all your buildings look unique and fantastic. Any reason why you didn't plump for the newer style road plates?
@dubbzibricks2 күн бұрын
Thanks Mike. Couple of reasons for not using the road plates. I don't like the way the tiles fill the holes. I know a real road doesn't look like a fallen over brick road, however from a distance, I think the brick built road looks better. Also doing a brick build road gives me more freedom to add lines in different direction and also different widths. Down side, they are very part intensive so more expensive to build. I need LEGO to put DBG bricks and plates on the PAB wall.

Awesome build on the theatre - if you were thinking of reducing its size a little bit, you could have a look at Letchworth Garden City Broadway Cinema and Theatre in Hertfordshire - it was featured in The World's End - Simon Pegg / Edgar Wright film.. The exterior could possibly influence a reduction in size to your Monarch Theatre build.. Are you going to create a stage production of Die Fleidermaus? (The flying mouse, cough, bat).. As the production inside the theatre?
@dubbzibricks2 күн бұрын
I want to have something being shown inside of the theatre, however not sure what yet. Zorro was what was going to be advertised outside, but haven't decided for sure yet. The Letchworth Garden City Broadway Cinema and Theatre looks really cool. I may use that for inspiration for a different building. I love the different colours on the walls around the window. Thanks for the tip @dawsondavis664
@dawsondavis6642 күн бұрын
@@dubbzibricks No worries, dude - appreciate you having a look, when people suggest something - like I did with Letchworth... If that's okay to do - if you were thinking of doing a market - you could use Camden Town Market in London for interconnected marketplaces and marketsquares, and as inspiration for twisting-turny paths, alleyways, old railway arches, obviously doing it in your own design style.. Was just thinking that a multi-level market with halls, open-air sections, underground areas, lots of walkways, road- and foot-bridges and loading ramps etc- with a sort of Builder's Wharf, Shad Thames and Jacobs Island look about it - was used as a filming location in the 1968 Oliver Twist..

My Arkham was on an Island, however I am not sure due to space, whether I am going to be able to do it again. I will be trying to make it have a feel that it is not connected to the city. It is something that I am hoping to start work on very soon.

How much would you say you spend per month on Lego as an average? I'm curious.
@dubbzibricks2 күн бұрын
Since moving into the new LEGO room the spending has thankfully dropped quite a lot. The past month has been about 100 Euro. Luckily at the moment I am able to use the bricks from Mandalore and Jabba's Palace. The Tantive Build series is going to require me to buy pretty much all of the parts so the spending will have to go up for that.
