You got it going on. It's better to have a little bigger gap than have a big fine.

Turned out great! I’m ready to see those fish lol! I just knew you were going to nail the door slat to the trap frame but unlike me, you didn’t lol. Slat traps are highly regulated here, only a couple of places you can use them, and a certain time of year. Considered commercial and they’re ramping commercial fishing fees up and requiring strict reporting and log books now
@godscountryhuntingfishing16382 жыл бұрын
They did the same thing in Louisiana years back. It was and is still a big mess on reporting. However, they have now made it easier for guys who fish them recreationally. Arkansas should recognize, that some guys just want to fish them recreationally and not commercially. Our heritage and people knowing how depends on younger generations doing this bc stuff. If not careful, they be will kill it all together
@RaisedOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
@@godscountryhuntingfishing1638 yea my family that fishes nets aren’t very happy with the new regulations. Apparently they’re implementing a pretty stiff fine on the reporting. We’ve fished all kinds of ways our entire lives and everything handed down from older generations, hunting and fishing is a lifestyle for us and people are trying to make it a sport.
@godscountryhuntingfishing16382 жыл бұрын
@@RaisedOutdoors my thoughts are there's room for every type fishing. I hate seeing our methods get taken away, and I hate seeing fishermen down others because it's not there way. That's what wrong with the world today. Selfishness. Guys in our Arkansas lease are same way as y'all. They just said they were quitting hoop net fishing because of it. Unfortunately for most sportsmen and women, elected officials tend to screw things up if we don't elect the right ones. Elected officials appoint lawmakers!
@RaisedOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
@@godscountryhuntingfishing1638 yea it’s definitely getting more difficult to keep the traditions or fish and hunt to fill freezers. Most people look at fishing and hunting as a recreation or sport if some kind but it’s food to our family and friends. My wife always says….I’m not into catch and release, I’m into catch and eat. (Except on occasion) Laws are sometimes beneficial but mostly political pressure

Yep, you can count on it. I've run them a lot years ago. Just still can't help but wonder how they compare to wire nets, cheese vs blocks, lake vs river, hanging vs on bottom, etc. I figure we're gonna find out all that together in upcoming videos, lol!!
