Just curious how much it cost in material, how many man hour, and did you get plans or make it yourself? Nice stable looking to make one too
@Mad2722.4 жыл бұрын
Pressure treated lumber just went up so I'm not sure on the material costs, pretty sure it takes 5 guys in 2 days to build and it's simple to build what I'll do is take pictures of some examples and come up with my measurements

Ok... this is my plan! 1. Find some cheap, yet easily usable land fit for at least 2 horses (and maybe a pony) 2. Get Uncle to build simple horse stable (He is a carpenter) 3. The best part... find somebody basically GIVING horses away (Because apparently people do that) 4. Get tack 5. Actually enjoy my life :)

Tough, the horse can't even see each other. What is this, Isolation stables?. I would have railed on the inside between the horses so they can see each other and NOT be in complete isolation.
@alysonemery52877 жыл бұрын
Sabata Dupuch Look closer. There are galvanized steel rails between the stalls so they can see each other when they're locked inside.

There is TONS of empirical evidence that barns are bad for horses, who were never meant to live indoors. Before you spend a lot of money on a barn for yourself, do what's best for your animals, which need basic shelter and 24/7 turnout. . . read a book!
@goncaloqueiroz87343 жыл бұрын
which book?
@khoward216873 жыл бұрын
Unless...u have ponies then 24/7 turn out turns out to be a vet bill and stall rest(founder)
@user-bx7nw1ve6y3 жыл бұрын
@@khoward21687 I suppose, if you have tons of junk lying around or leave them haltered and subject to getting hung up on something. Mine have nothing more than a solid, three-sided run in shed and have been happy and founder/injury free for more than 20 years
@Shewolfen2 жыл бұрын
@@user-bx7nw1ve6y I agree 24/7 turnout is best. But I still think a stall is important to have for temporary holding them or some medical reason they need to be on stall rest because of an injury. Some horses need special diets and separted during feeding , like old horses that need mash , so they serve a purpose. we had 3 sided open stalls run -in and had a stall guard we could put up if needed.
@Shewolfen2 жыл бұрын
@@khoward21687 only if they are turned out on lush grass is founder a problem. depends on their size and metabolics also.
