Wow. Even the Affinity is routed for a humbucker in the neck! I was thinking about doing this with a CV 50s Squier. Only not relic it, because I like to keep my stuff looking good. My kid relic'd our 2005 Prius by turning in front of a week old BMW. Now THAT'S how you relic something!

Woah! Hope he is OK! You should do it - you will really enjoy the guitar and the sound!

fantastic job! do you sell your relics?
@rustedwoods1009 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching! I dont sell them right now, but an upcoming project will be a Player Telecaster - relic'd like Micawber. I will probably sell that one.

Nice work mate. I did one of these a couple of years back with a squire classic vibe. It was a lot of fun albeit quite labour intensive with stripping away all of that poly paint.

Stripping is the hardest for sure!!

Looks really good, the relicing is perfect, so good that you have to drill the string through body holes and add the Ferules. Does the bridge pickup have a base-plate of any kind, I know some Squiers don't have em. With the string holes and the bridge pickup plate it should be a near twin of Mr Richards. I know they put a zinc plate under the PAF and maybe the bridge too.

This Squire did not have it. GREAT info on the zinc plate under the PAF! Thank you!

I jaut remembered, near full strength for quick relic on tuners. Oh and i sorta used your idea. I have an old rgt47dx that needed restoration. I removed all the paint and saw several layers so i decided to keep some of them. Nice relic on an old painted and now natural beauty. Thanks again. Ill load a few video's soon.

Sounds great! That Ibanez design is KILLER!

😎👍Could you do a video on the neck relic?
@rustedwoods1009 ай бұрын
Ill do another one for sure! It was a different process to get it done, and would have taken too much time in this video.

Thought the same, a lot of videos on bodies not so much on necks 😕

What is the copper colored tape in the guitar channels?
@rustedwoods1006 ай бұрын
It helps isolate the pickups. :)

Seymour Duncan makes a 50's Fender lap steel bridge pickup you should/could have used.

My only concern is the turner's. They're rusty on the inside now. There's a quicker way to do those but th each their own. Good job.
@rustedwoods1009 ай бұрын
They did eventually stop working. Going with Sperzel tuners
@ranman586359 ай бұрын
@@rustedwoods100 , yeah, I saw a video of how that was avoided. He only brushed them with the solution instead of dipping them.
@rustedwoods1009 ай бұрын
I'm trying that next. On some unused tuners for sure!

I have not seen that name. When I google his guitar tech Pierre comes up. Most sites say he is his long time guitar tech

You have a braided wire on the PAF. Why don't you use that for grounding. That's whow it use to be wired.

I just wanted to see if I could make it look like Keith's. Next guitar build will be a full burned guitar body. Watch for that video. Also doing one soon on a "river" guitar with resin.
