Couple of things to point out Biffa 1) In Quality Crest, you're deleting houses but because you manually placed them, they're not rebuilding as there's no zone beneath it 2) That double roundabout so close together on the edge of Hobnob Heights is causing traffic chaos. You've got space around it, would it not be better to take them out and have a big 'central' roundabout?

"The Brew" would be appropriate bc most of our rivers are a lovely, silty, brown. Also the new estate does look a little bit like its on a flood plain, those residents are going to need their boats!

That new roundabout into Celebration Gardens has got to be called 'The tub'. You enter the tub to get to the celebrations!
@stephballchange505017 сағат бұрын
I think the space opposite the new estate, the other side of the roundabout, could be a great place for a smaller retail park. I don’t think residents in celebration gardens would want amenities directly by their houses, so building on the other side of the main road would be a good move and could have restaurants and bars as well as other leisure and retail

☕ A few more I've been brainstorming for you... Lindt lane, Rowntree road. Viennetta view, Terry's Orange Avenue, Aero's Bubbles (thinking this one can be like a bunch of cul-de-sacs close to one another 😉) , Tutti Fruitii Fields, Jelly Tots Junction, Party Rings (could be another sort of cul-de-sac place), Ice Gem End, Pink Wafer Place, Tunnocks Teacake Lake (if you wanted to you can make a few lakes nearby), Fruit Pastels Fields, and finally, another one for a bunch of cul-de-sacs, Cadburys Buttons End. Loving the progress, both "The Boil", or "The Brew" are perfect names for the River. "Kettlewick-on-the-Boil" Speaking of which, mines just clicked, time to pour myself a cuppa and get watching. 😊💜
@bobblebardsley7 сағат бұрын
I like 'The Brew'. If the city was just called Kettle, instead of Kettlewick, I'd suggest naming it the River Boil, then you'd have a Kettle-on-the-Boil. Also idk if there are triangular houses in CS2 but it would be genius to have a Toblerone Street where everything was triangular. (I guess you'd have to name it Toblerone Triangle.) City's looking great, nicely done!

Oh that's weird, I hadn't watched the end of the video when I posted that, but it still kinda works with you mentioning calling it the Boil.

I was watching you layout roads for Celebrations Gardens, just a suggestion was to have a lane with no parking and tree lined parallel to the river and having large homes backing along the river well spaced out instead of the cul de sacs, just to make it like a richer looking estate. Have bike path on edge of river and beautiful oak trees as well. Hope that made sense 🤔 it would be a celebration to live there. Also the river could be called River Teames

I just had a thought - I think the landfill site is too close to that main road into Kettlebridge. I'm sure you don't want new residents coming along *that* road spotting the landfill and thinking "This place is so unattractive". Maybe the landfill site is moved further away from the road, and hidden behind trees, so all the noise and smell of the work there is kept out of sight, allowing everyone to enjoy the city in peace and quiet with a nice cuppa?

It is quite common for UK residential streets/areas to have the occasional alley with a set of garages for the nearby houses; might be a nice little extra detail to break up areas with lots of repeated housing assets.

Great video Biffa! You can delete the landfill for some extra money. You shouldn't need it now. If you find that too unrealisitc, you can empty it first. A cool idea might be to use the landscaping tools to put some type of a mound there and plant a bunch on top. KInda what like happens to real landfills, hence the name!

A lot of unused riverside space in the up market area. Many wealthy areas with large gardens have backlands development, where large gardens are sold and a few houses are built down little lanes. What you could do is fit a few alleyways off the cul de sacs and have a few large detached houses face the river. And also increase the density. In addition near the bridge you could have a large pub and garden face the river off an alley, with a river tow path connecting the pub and all the cul de sacs.

I feel like this new area should have something named after the little bay/pond at the end. Something like "the best arrow" because of its shape. I think it'd be cool to make the pond a more prominent feature and have like a few shops around it at the end of the neighborhood

Great progress! I think you deserve to use anarchy to put in the highway link. That would probably be something that an administrative layer higher up would do. For the connection to the main road, maybe turn both of the roads you built into one way roads, and put a two way road that curves and connects to the main road at a 90 degree angle? That way the left turns would be smooth in all directions, while the dangerous right hand turns (with left hand traffic) would be taken at a 90 degree angle which reduces the risk of accident due to many rear view mirrors missing things at a slight angle rearwards. Also, when you moved the cul-de-sac's, the through road became a bit wonky. Maybe temporary extend the cul-de-sac roads, delete the through road and redraw it with less wonkyness? Also thinking that in some rare cases the pedestrian bridge you put in would rather be a bus bridge, possibly one way or possibly a regular double direction bridge.

☕👍 25:22 get a decal pack and you could make that roundabout look like a mini roundabout it's meant to be! 31:33 you can get them to snap to the sides of the road without any mods in case if you didn't know. INSPIRIED BY @DanAI17's comment of " "The Brew" would be appropriate bc most of our rivers are a lovely, silty, brown. Also the new estate does look a little bit like its on a flood plain, those residents are going to need their boats!": The river brew could be a good name. However, river is water, a liquid. Tea is a liquid. Tea-On-The-Brew or The-Tea-Is-Brewing or something along the lines of those would be good. EDIT: Rename Kettlewick to Kettle and the river could be named Brew. Then you can rename Kettle to Kettle-on-the-Brew!

Hi Biffa love your videos, but where are the UK roads? Circular turning circles (lollipops) were used up to the 1950's, from the 1960's & onwards turning T's & L's were implemented in modern urban design layouts. Also 'entries' were phased out with no access to the rear of houses, with the exception of 'Span' design developments (1960's/70's) with rear access only & communal areas to the front. In addition, any 'new builds' (1980's/90's) houses would be placed in a slightly 'staggered' pattern (back fence to back fence) following the deliberately designed 'wobble' in the road, a deliberate design decision to give a more 'organic' feel to the scheme & I think to correct the mistakes made in previous years were straight roads added to the sterile feel of a development. Just my observations, apologies for rambling on. 😊

I’ve noticed in Quality Crest (unless your speeds are set to be in KPH then you can just ignore this) the speed limits advised on the roads are crazy. Your main houses streets are set to 40mph and should be 30 at most maybe 20 and your back streets are 30 and should be 20 at most maybe 15. Not sure whether that’s the same in the other housing areas but I did see that the default speed limits In quality crest are a touch too high.
