What is the opening or measure that the transporter must have when they copy the perfect curvature so that the upper trunk fits over the lower one when the corners are inserted? Can someone tell me how they got the bottom mark for the centre line of the scarf cut? They do not explain it in the video. They just called it the midpoint.

Why not straighten the log in the sawmill up and down before the assembly?

Flat wood surfaces will mold against eachother. Having a thinner strip around the bottom log will help it breathe. Gives also pressure to the important places holding the wind. And it will not have a natural look. If the curve is nicely around the other log it creates a obstacle for the wind blowing into the insulation between logs.

Find the diameter by measuring the circumference, or distance around, the log. Then use C=2”pi” r, where r is the radius. Then use this to solve for r. So if the circumference is 10” the radius, or the center of the circle, is 1.59.
