This just proves the old saying that if a hammer is the only tool you have then EVERYTHING starts to look like a nail! What is wrong with a circular saw to cut the long lines and a chisel to finish it up with? How about a drill to drill the holes for the tenon to fit into and a chisel to clean them up! I am starting to think that this is more about advertising for Skil chainsaws than it is about building a log home!

Skil versys Stihl? He was not using a Stihl. It looks like a Husqvarna. The guy is good with a chainsaw and fast.

Jeff are you a interested in becoming a logsmith? Go buy some logs and just put your theory into practice. This gentleman probably spends 40hrs a week, every week making log homes. There is not one way to do anything. FYI anybody that knows anything about log smithing knows you need a Husqvarna. Stihl is for firewood, and I have never seen a Skil chainsaw. Well never looked for one at least. I’ve never heard your hammer saying before either. Also what do you do for a living? Just so we can tell you what’s wrong with the way you do your job.
