I really like this. You might want to consider diagonal bracing on your stand. Rectangles have a way of becoming parallelograms and then collapsing.
@jeremiahneal33009 ай бұрын
I agree. The “L” brackets are almost completely worthless and diagonal bracing is where the strength/rigidity comes from.

There are a lot variables - such as total gallons and type of glass (tempered vs not) and thickness. Since it’s 3/4” thick, it would likely work for my size

Pro tip #6. Since you’re hiding the plumbing against the wall, try building it in the space the tank is going to be, at against the wall. That way, if/ and mostly likely when an issue comes up and you need to switch out or fix plumbing, you won’t till then, find out the hard way you can’t fix a problem without moving the tank. Learn from my mistakes.

@@CichlidBros I'm not usually the type to do so, but I'm seeing all kinds of red flags in the construction of thos thing. The stand looked good, but everything on the stand looks kind of sketch. I assume you know 2x4 are intended to be used perpendicular to the way they were installed as bracing. That construction looks like it will flex alot under load, which will cause the fiberglass and epoxy to crack in the corners eventually. Also the 2×4 on the left and right of the viewing panel may bow outwards slightly along with the sides and compromise the silicone seal to the glass. Which proven builds are you following for this??
