Building my apartment in Fallout 4 VR and Living in it

Fallout 4 VR on a wireless Quest 2 opens up insane possibilities. Like for example, recreating my entire apartment to scale in Sanctuary and then just living in it. I never thought my Fallout 4 VR would be THIS immersive ever but here we are. Yes, you need mods for the full VR body but other than that, anyone can make their living space in Fallout 4 VR and do this. Very curious to see if anyone has. Links below:

Once I finish university I'm hands down rebuilding my entire house to scale in unity and making a vrchat world outa it. I'm an animation student and have been 3d modeling basically daily for the last 4 years so I think it'll go well. Plus it means I can actually invite my friends in America and Canada over to my actual house to hang out. It isnt quite meeting up in real life but hey, it'll be interesting.

You *can* turn off the guardian in developer mode. You can turn on developer mode in the phone app. The only pain is that everytime the headset is turned off you have to redisable the guardian in the headset settings. Edit: My Quest 2 might have some faults, looks like everyone else's guardian stays disabled once turned off.

Actually once disabled in developer mode, the guardian stays turned off even through restarts, you still have tracking, but no pass through or space sense. I know this because I have had my guardian turned off for months.

Better yet, even go in-game and use the disable command on some dirt and see if it deletes that patch of dirt or the whole city block. Hint: It deletes that piece of dirt. The issues you brought up are the literal reason the ESP version doesnt allow you to scrap as many things.

1:40 Through Oculus Dash you could pin one of your monitors to stream a movie or something and line it up with where your TV should be and it would work. Though you'd have to stay in the same position the whole time so it would be a bit immersion breaking.

You actually can turn off the guardian it’s really easy. all you have to do is turn on development mode and if your wondering how to do that, there are lots of tutorials it’s really easy. once you do turn developer mode on all you have to do is turn off the guardian inside settings on your quest

I find this kind of thing incredibly cool. Fun experiment aside, this is really pushing the potential of vr forward. With the knowhow, it's entierly possible to recreate your home as a vr game (saw a video on this a while back) and at that point you can kinda do whatever you want with it. You could even make use of smart devices and voice activated stuff 🤔

As someone who has access to Hololens2 (a pair of AR glasses that scans your immediate area to generate collision surfaces), I'm essentially doing the EXACT OPPOSITE of what you do; putting virtual objects in my apartment. So if I'm ever pissed off about something, I can grab an object and throw it across the room... I just need to make sure that I throw the right object! My goal is to create a skybox so that I can essentially eliminate most of my walls and ceiling and have a view of a mountain range with a river.

I had never made it far in Fallout 4 Desktop. So last year I decided to play through the entirety of the game in VR. Honestly one of the coolest experiences I've had in gaming, jankyness aside. I remember physically crouching in my room and learning up against my bed, while in-game I was inside a burnt out bus, sniping raiders off rooftops. I look forward to the future, where they have fully fleshed out open world games like Fallout/Skyrim, but built from the ground up for VR.

Two things, since no one else seems to have mentioned it: - You can disable the Guardian if you enable Developer Mode. - If there's still a round in the chamber, you don't need to rack the charging handle after loading a new mag.

This was basically the idea I had for a VR game experience way back when I saw a making Avatar documentary before the movie released. James Cameron was looking through a viewfinder that was connected with tons of cables to computers that projected rough polygon constructions of the CG props that were to be in the movie. That gave me an idea (and somebody else) what was called the Void VR. Bear in mind I had nothing to do with that venture just people having the same ideas in different places. Nothing I could uave realistaclly acted on at the time. So it was cool to see _someone_ do it. Anyway that's what youve made a perfect demo of.... Now imagine instead of just a room you have a huge warehouse with multiple "sets" and game scenarios that have layouts designed around the sets. And the sets can be anything you want from a science facility to docks and warehouse to a neighborhood, you just load in new skins and scenarios for all the physical stuff you're interacting with while in free roaming VR. Then you can have various games, action, mystery, horror, all in VR with real physical objects to interact, in reality just blank walls but in the game moss covered bricks or worn wallpaper or covered on blood.

Click on Settings, then proceed towards the menu of full settings on the Quest. Now on the bottom of the menu, select See All. Click on the Developer Tab. To disable your guardian boundary to retain the positioning of your Quest, turn off the Guardian option.

The trick with the guardian is to just make it really big so it doesn't appear in game, I have tried this and it does actually work. Doing this really does trick the brain into thinking you're really there, it's shockingly immersive

You can solve your Guardian troubles by making the couch an own play zone. This means there will be a thin "guardian wall" between couch and play area, so you 'll see that when moving in between for an instance. You can do the same with your desk and other areas where you want to sit.

I have the Quest 2 and *Sometimes* my wireless device remembers multiple guardians like the one for playing on my King Size Christmas Gift to Me and the wife (Plush of Course), and the one for my computer chair, and the one for when I sit and play my game while my son watches Paw Patrol since I am very Paw Patrolled out at this point. The exact parameters of why though, IDK, I didn't ask it to remember and it might be because I started the device in that room. Just thought to add the feed back. 1:50 Honestly, if you can mod that game like normal non-VR FO4, look into 'place everywhere.' INCREDIBLE mod, it's revolutionized my ability to customize settlements. That red outline/green outline bullshit is so annoying and restrictive. After placing something, you can even move it incrementally by getting it in the middle of your sight with the settlement activated so that it's got the glowing outline, and use the numpad to move it around. 4/5 for side-to-side. 8/2 for up and down, 7/9 pulls it closer to the player or pushes it away from the player, and 1/3 I think actually changes the size of the object to make it bigger or smaller. It's AMAZING! Oh! Oh! You can also use I think 'Home' and 'End' to enable or disable physics, meaning you can place objects in certain places and then turn off physics so that it can't be kicked around by NPCs or by the Sole Survivor and won't get blown away if an explosion happens nearby! So much fun, I haven't even gotten to Vault 88 yet. Given enough time, I can truly deck that place out to seem like a legit vault with chems in the doctor's office and garbage cans placed about possibly even with rubbish in them that won't get kicked around, and all sorts of other stuff! Maybe even an armory and shooting range? EEEEE! :D MODS ARE AMAZING WHEN THEY DON'T CONFLICT WITH ONE ANOTHER AND DON'T CORRUPT THE GAME!
