I'm SO PUMPED!! Completely renovating my shop and making it more build friendly, film friendly and collete-spec :) has been something I've wanted to do since I've moved in! We're going all out.

When painting ceilings, get a extension for the paint gun. When you are spraying that far away, you are creating a lot of overspray dust and wasting a lot of paint. The spray tip should be about 12" from the surface you are spraying. You can also reduce the pressure and create less overspray.

@@ColleteDavis Good decision on the flat ceiling paint. Love how there is no reflections or glare. What is that nasty stain on that back roll door? Is it paint or algae? Would be cool if you got Project Prime to do some kind of wrap for the roll door. 👍

before even going past the part you say 6 gallons you are doing a very good job for your first time spring! I have sprayed a lot of things and it is not an easy job if things are not set up right or you were trying to fix a machine that screwed up lol you are doing a good job especially with a black paint!

Damn, that was a huge job! I did some interior hosue painting recently, and it really is a lot of work. The fact that you did most of it yourself makes it even more impressive.

That accent wall pulled the whole thing together. If you where to do a pink stripe, a neon pink stripe around the shop up by the ceiling would probably work well. Also painting the lift neon pink, with neon yellow powder coated lift arms would really make it pop

Some spray-on truck bed liner on the roll up door would be a really good idea . And you can get that stuff in pretty much every colour in the rainbow .

17:10 the yellow parts off the lift are often yellow for visability / safety, so you wont trip over them or you dont forget to fold them in or out depending on when you use them or not. It usually is the same color yellow as the marking stripes they use on floors or to mark low ceilings with

The yellow is most likely an OSHA requirement for visibility in a comercial work space im sure some one would get fined for it.

ive mounted an air line reel and powercord reel to the vertical tops of the hoist, just one per side and its so convenient. no need to drag lines halfway across the shop floor now. p.s the place looks killer Collete !

The shop is really taking shape. This may not be an idea you like, but what about a 4" or 5" heartbeat pattern like what you see on an EKG at the hospital. On all the surrounding walls. That could give you the neon splash with a fun side.

As much as I love a flat finish I also think a high gloss lacquered finish in black would look super good for the ceilings. Since it’s lacquered you’d almost get a mirror-ish finish. Help reflect a little more light. But the shops looking great!

For the “brick look wall” I would go to Home Depot or somewhere and buy the big sheets. Paint them the color you want and then fill in the “cracks” with black or whatever color. Might take a little while to paint but at least it’s not trying to peel and stick anything

🎉 Have you considered putting in different colored electrical outlets and covers? I was thinking black, might not be enough contrast to tool boxes, shelves or cabinets though. Could always do the outlet in one color and the cover in a different one. It'll be interesting to see how powder coating the lift arms goes. Making them stand out is good for safety. I'd be tempted to put a thin dotted neon yellow stripe tape line on the edges of the lift columns so it's obvious where they are.

with spraying you always go thru alot more paint but like you see for the most part it may not need a second coat but doesnt hurt to do a light second coat normally I like to do 1 very light coat then go heavy & then im done.

You win some, you lose some at least the adhesive didn't ruin everything. I'd make that whole cozy corner lit and done like a "studio", as it's easier to mount lights with 3 walls with the camera on the open side. Don't know if heavier fabrication may be in your future because you have access to Johan/Cricket etc. But if decide to u could mirror the wall location and enclose the other side as a "dirty" room. This is gonna look Collete no matter what the base colors are underneath. 🤣 Maybe neon yellow and pink pinstripe going around with a gap? Doesn't have to stay straight either.
