With a 5900x, I think you'll need a beefier cooler, that cpu runs hot underload, and I'm fairly certain that specific cooler won't be able to keep up with it. That cooler is generally used in itx builds. Edit: Also your fan hub should be on the other side of the case so you can route the cables through the back so everything is cleaner looking.

The "metal chunk" was a drive bay. Not a big deal removing it if you don't need it. But if you did want to add storage later on for your graphics work, you might want to put that back in. I know it makes things tight for the PSU cables, but with most cases you can compensate by good cable routing in the back and make it work. Just something to consider when you do tidy up your cables. And like others have said, not sure that CPU cooler will do the job for your 5900 cpu. I'd download HWMonitor or MSI Afterburner and check what kind of temps you're getting on your CPU and if they're high, I'd look at getting a more substantial cpu cooler. You don't need an AIO, but something like the Dark Rock Pro 4 would give you really good cooling and be relatively quiet. And it would even have added aesthetic bonus of matching your black mobo and gpu ;)
@calicobra78472 жыл бұрын
Your CPU Cooler is too small! The 5900x is a beast I don't think it can keep it very cool. In addition I don't think that was enough thermal paste. Highly advise getting a 240mm AIO cooler

oh hmm i might repaste it but currently it doesnt go above mid 70s celcius when i have rendering going on. would you recc a repaste and different cooler in this case?

I would have to strongly agree with this one. Although you may be able to get away with it for know I would suggest upgrading the cooler to a 240mm AIO sooner than later. Also when you change it out apply just a bit more paste.

@@ROORIN_ A high end air cooler like the Dark Rock Pro or NH15 would do. @andrewmcewan91452 жыл бұрын
@@ROORIN_ those low profile coolers are usually very expensive as the sff (small fourm factor) pc market is kinda niche. A 120mm tower cooler with 4+ heat pipes shoud be more than enough assuming your not overclcoking. Although ryzens dont really draw that much power overall. Something like a hyper 212 from cooler master or a gamaxx 400 as it cheeper in canada would probably cool better and cost considerably less. Although I dont know your return options. Cc waterloo charged a restocking fee on open box when I was there last but that was years ago. Running something like cinebench for a few passes to see temptures dont pass 85 ish and you core clocks are arround 4.1-4.3 ghz the cooler is probably good enough. The 12 and 16 core chips can see a decent inprovment of boost clocks by enabling pbo in the bios as they have the same powerlimit as the 8 core 5800 With pbo enabled the core clocks shoud be arround 4.3-4.5. Pbo = presision boost overdrive it essentially increses the power limit and allows for a few 100mhz increse to the boost states of the cpu. Although it is a form of overclocking. I haven't finished the video yet but ensure you enabled xmp in the bios as ryzen needs fast ram to perform properly.
@crisnmaryfam73442 жыл бұрын
@@ROORIN_ Deep cool AK620 is one they just recently reviewed. "air coolers are getting seriously impressive" 6 days ago. They throw up some comparison graphs you can check out too. That low profile is great for a low power APU Small form factor build, not so much for what you want to be doing. With Ryzens "PBO" precision boost stuff, the more cooling you throw at them the better they run, so not only will you be investing in a cooler chip, but faster render times and such. Time is money as they say. ;)

As a first timer i applaud this im just a bit confused as to why everyone seems to start their new build in this case does it not have cable managing in rear? Im lost
@LadyWolvie822 жыл бұрын
Two reasons, actually... 1. Without solid cable management minimum, you run a higher risk of having to replace parts because the cables are either badly snagged to the point where the corresponding part doesn't work as well or as intend at all, creating a domino effect of needing to replace more parts due to bad cable management. Never underestimate the strength of one's hands. 2. Maintenance of the inner side of the chassis (as in cleaning the system). Cleaning becomes more difficult if one's cable management is subpar, plus you still run a risk of needing to replace parts if bad cable management is a factor in the aftermath of cleaning the system. Hope this helps (I've built 3 systems for myself - two of them being in a dual monitor/dual tower setup - with every build having at least a decent amount of cable management done).

Good job as I've been building PC's for 25 years as every build is different. Y'all crack me up with this cable management though as professionals don't give a crap about the looks of cables.
